Painting an Emperor's Children army. Flying pre-heresy colours, so purple armour, gold trim, green eyes and white pauldrons, shinguards and wristguards. Already painted a Heldrake with that scheme and I am very happy with how it turned out.

I am using Sternguard Veterans to kitbash Aspiring Champions for my squads. I'm of a mind to follow the instructions laid out in Insignium Astartes (kinda works when you're EC and supposedly can fly the aquila in ironic pride without breaking the fluff) and use red helmets on aspiring champions, white helmets on veterans (noise marines and all other elites) and red helmets with white stripes (or the inverse) on veteran champions such as noise champs.

Lords and other HQ are veterans in my book and will wear white helmets as well.

Basically I just want to hear if people have found alternative ways of depicting champions.
