So, I'm building some more Fire Warriors and I've noticed that on most of the legs, one or both of the "plating" on the thighs that has the 3 lines going through are basically smudged and not detailed/modeled at all! I don't remember them being this bad =(

The lines on the left leg here are smudged and I have to basically cut my own to make it look like the right leg. Here's a pic:

Well, I got 3 boxes of the Fire Warriors, and from two different locations and all boxes are like this, plus I got them months ago, just not building =( Is it basically GW's current Fire Warrior mould is messed up?

3 boxes it sounds like its the mould. Ring your local store and see what they say

I found this on some of the Tau I purchased & painted a few years ago tbh. (Mega Force & Battle Force boxes).

This is what all of them look like. It's a mistake in the molds. All of them have it.

Remove the mold lines and retrace the panel lines with the proper tool.

Ever since a tourney where a guy said "hey, that firewarrior cant see over the barrier, its true LOS" I have stopped using the kneeling guys. Seriously.

You may never run into such a jerk, but thought I would share.

Oh wow, if I was facing a jerk like that I would just quit the match... of course if it was a tournament that would be very annoying!

Yeah, normally I am quite the sporting fellow (usually rank in the top 5 for sportsmanship at major events).

To make it worse, he was playing a cheesy army (one of the power builds of the day - this was in 5th edition when tau were a major underdog).

it made it so much better when I beat him.

Over time, I have slowly replaced my kneeling FW with standing ones because of this.

Likewise, while there are a few decent tau compatible aegis lines out there, I am going to have to make one myself, as I want one that physically matches the dimensions exactly of the real one, just so no one can even have any grounds to complain.

If you have other legs messed up, or just want more, firewarrior legs can usually be found on ebay fairly cheap.
