Hello, I am a player out of Legions Games on route 19 in Pittsburgh PA. This is a Imperial Guard roleplaying game that i am trying to get a group together to play. We have as of right now 10 slots open. I figure that I would post on here as I know a lot of my fellow gamers from Legions are on this site. This game is not like the other 40k RPG games. In fact, it is said this game has one of the highest character turn over rate as you are a Imperial Guardsmen who is required to complete dangerous missions with nothing but a prayer on your lips and courage in your heart. If you would like to sign up for this play leave your name on here and send me a PM with a email i can reach you at.

Basic Info:
10 slots open
Need to obtain a copy of the only war core rule book.
Need 2 D 10 dice 1 d 4 and 2 d 20 dice

Character creation is on December 15th at Legions Games at about 1800 (6 pm). I will have the things you need to make your character and can supply a model with weapons (with in reason) if needed.
I will supply character sheets.
I will help explain how to create characters to those that need help.

We will meet either weekly or biweekly biases upon what the group decides at character creation. I am open to both.

Thank you, and if you have any questions please feel free to PM me.

"Dungeons & Dragons Imperial Guard game"

*cringe*

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

Imperial Guard roleplaying game seems a little more accurate.

I'm not in the area, but I can recommend the system as a ton of fun! Ten player slots? Going to be a busy game there...

A 40k RPG focussed on the Imperial Guard? While D&D and Only War are both RPGs they're very different systems, sharing only the most rudimentary mechanics.

EDIT: Yeah, 10 players might be a bit much, how experienced are you with running Only War and GM'ing in general?

Pretty experienced actually, I understand its going to be a lot of work but i finished my last fan fiction and decided if i was going to spend that many hours doing something id rather it be this than another story.

I figure that with 10 people I can have them operate as a like SF group team. I have actually studied military history in depth and plan on using my knowledge in this field to come up with interesting missions and make them to where they need that many people to handle what a SF team would have to handle. Of course, if i don't get 10 i can always dial back the difficult.

Edited for extra details.

Fair enough, just keep in mind that if you do get 10 players you'll have your work cut out for you making sure all of them get a chance to be in the spotlight, especially the quite ones that aren't quite as confident roleplayers as the others.

That, and the tabletop ought to get crowded pretty quickly. Ten PCs (with ten or fewer Comrades) take up a surprising amount of space. Should be pretty amusing when they realize that the people who sprung for good initiative get to hog all the cover...

On the plus side, you should be able to do some pretty decent-sized battles without involving too too much NPC cannon fodder. Got an idea on a plot/planet/mission, or are you waiting to see what sort of regiment your group comes up with?

Role playing is really fun. I haven't tried only war but I did play Dark Heresy and that was a ball of fun. I ended the adventure by shooting our Psyker creazed fellow Inquisitor in the head with a shotgun. He went quite mad in his attempts to restore his fingers (we called him flipper...well...I did...) and was gonna' chop the fingers off our prisoner. This, after he baked several law officers accidentally with a Psychic surge. So yeah. heretic city. had to go.

Hold out bait to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and then crush him.

I'm going to move this to the RPG board, you might want to consider a thread in the Find a Game board.

And check out the player finder feature too !

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.
