So people maybe aware that i've been trying hard recently to make the death co serious contenders. A month back included a whole podded death co army, the idea of a death co blob a week ago, c:sm chap master or corbulo tanking. I've loved a lot of feed back, including white scars khan for scout, raven guard shrike for infiltrate, inquisitors to buff a blob, DA pfg running with them. Basically any idea that wasnt just a standard one 10 man pod or death co raider.
I think I've cracked it.
Now one problem with the death company is the extreme expense of making them mobile; jps at 15pts, land raiders, ravens etc. If you don't fork this out you have to either invest in a tanking character and walk them or pod them and hope for the best. However the main weakness is no scoring. This can be combatted to an extent by putting scouts in ravens or backfield objective holders, the problem with these strategies are either the scouts get ruined if the raven is shot down or they just generally get ruined over 5-7 turns of enemy shooting.

So we need a way to effectively have hard to kill troops that score easily. Then it hit me - necrons in scythes! Just two scythes with 5 man warrior squads can score anywhere on the board, and if the scythes get shot down, well, I will have placed two objectives backfield for the returning warriors to score on (and if shooting at the scythes, thats less shots hitting my maniacs and/or raven). Necrons also open up one of my favourite units - a veiltek jumping around with a couple of stormteks in tow to wreck a tank or two. And a necron overlord on a barge to go hunting whatever the hell he likes.

So here is the list (note the 5 pods so the dc and furioso can all come down turn 1):

Best of all for me personally is that all I have to do to run this list is invest in 2 pods!

Necrons and Blood Angels are desperate allies, so I'm afraid the Warriors can't score anything.

Ahhh pants! And thats what I needed to avoid me going out and buying 2 more pods! Thank you Thud for pointing out my glaring oversight... you have just saved me a lot of money!
Now to find a way to rework the list where a non scoring death co are actually the allies instead of the other way around...
