I want to find the best ranged support to my blood angels assault force. Looking for something about 500-600 points.

Assault Force (approximately 1250)- all with jump packs

Librarian (warlord) with Sanguinary Shield and another power
3 Assault Squads: 10 man assault squads, each with PF, 2 meltas and a sanguinary priest (FNP)
5 death company with power fists

I'm still optimizing my squads, but I'd like opinions about what kind of ranged support I should use. Blood Angels stuff is fine to suggest, but I am not opposed to allies.

2/3 stormravens if keeping it BA. IG autocannon spam or armoured battle company, podding sterns (technically not high ranged but do the same job), serpent spam allies, tau allies with bradsides and riptide...

It looks like that tau dataslate with 6 broadsides and a riptide might be a good way to go.

I have always enjoyed fielding Vindicators with Librarians casting Sanguinary Shield to protect them while advancing.

The downside of that (in my mind) would be my assault squads not receiving the protection. My strategy was to try and position two squads close enough together to benefit from the shield for at least two turns. The death company and other squad still had feel no pain to stop them from non-instant death weapons.

So I'd either be on the hook for a second librarian, or I'd get chewed up more advancing.

I've been thinking about this idea more, and I'm starting to warm to it- maybe replace the jump pack librarian with a combat monster HQ- chaplain or Dante or something...

What about two Baal predators with TL AC?

Baals can certainly work, they are just going to be AV magnets. I'd actually go for two dev squads personally. Plasma cannons are nice if placed properly, as are missile launchers. Add some meat shields in there(extra TACs) and there you go.

Without at least one SR, your weakness is going to be against air whether you go with Baals or Devs, but Baals will do better with the TLAC.

If I took a SR, I could ditch the jump packs for the death company and engage in some shennaigans by dumping a bunch of them by a vehicle and charging.
