Does anyone remember the 1977 hobbit television special? If so, were there ever any miniatures made for it?

Not that I'm aware of but there were a bunch of companies who made their own LOTR and Hobbit miniatures, whether licensed or not.

Compared to what's available now the sculpts were not that great. The late 70's and 80's cheesy metals used for D&D gaming and the like were rather corny, although in a tasteful way.

Try searching for Grenadier Miniatures, I think they mayhave made some LOTR and Hobbit stuff back then.
