I just bought the game yesterday and damn its pretty good, but only half of the game works if I can't even play online. Wasn't this game on this console released a while ago and shouldn't the first thing the creators of this game notice that their online feature is broken, or are they too focused on the PC Version? Unless somebody found a way to make it work would be much help to me.

The devs don't really care all that much for patching the game anymore. They've moved onto another project. The PC version only just received an update to match the content of the console versions (how long have they been out for...?). So a patch may eventually come, but its not high on the devs priorities given that Terraria was only ever meant to be a way to test ideas for another game.

A test? So I basically bought an unfinished product while i'm an unpaid tester who had to spend money on this.

That's BS. Way to treat the PS3 users by abandoning the game.

Ah, wha, no?

Its a full game, but the creator made it to see what he could do and people's receptiveness to it. Its not a beta or anything, rather the dev's moved onto other things. Terraria is updated on occasion, but after the negative response from fans over one particular update (the one which brought the game the consoles, but didn't update the PC version),they just want to work on other stuff. Its not like the game has to be supported by its developers, rather the latest patch for the PC was just to get the players off of their backs for whinging for more content all the time. So yeah, my point is, it wasn't meant to be as big a game as it became in the media's eyes. That the its creators want to get around to making other things of a higher quality, but keep getting dragged back to work on a legacy product that they didn't want to spend so much time on in the first place. =/

It looks just like Minecraft, how was it not expected to be big?

That game is bigger than the whole GTA Franchise and anything that looks and plays like minecraft would most definitely get attention.

But I guess I can just find some ways to fix it myself.

Well Minecraft's really just a ripoff of Dwarf Fortress and Infiniminer if you put it that way. =P

Meh, don't ask me. They want to make something bigger, and it was only intended to test the waters. There is a sequel coming, but it'll keep only being a WIP as long as they're having to support a game that they didn't want to in the first place. The added development time does mean that Terraria is a much more polished product, and gives the devs more experience, so I suppose it isn't so bad. It may be a popular game, but the developers aught to be allowed to discontinue it and work on a sequel without people complaining (though this is the internet, so its a given that people will).

Wait, sequel?

Why didn't they say so, i'm fine with that and would be happy to buy "Terraria 2" or whatever new name they want to call it.

Except I realized they favor PC anytime over console, so I guess i'm pretty sure they will never put it on there. Even if they did it would be on next gen consoles which they arenot all that great imo and probably keeping my PS3.

So yep. I guess its just me and singleplayer forever now.

Still a bit confused on they said they will fix the multiplayer but that news was since March, which was 9 months ago.

So what happened to that "Missing" update? Hell, how do updates even go missing?
