Hey guys im new to the forum and newly returned to the hobby.
I originally collected Warhammer
40k when I was about 9 years old and its safe to say I was a terrible painter. Every model would be covered in glue, painted massive blotches of 1 or 2 colours. Nasty stuff
After a Games workshop store opened in my town I decided to check it out with some friends who were also once into the hobby. I picked up some new paints, box of chaos cultists and brushes and got to work. I finished the last model last night and today I woke up and knew something wasnt right. I was out of models, I started to panic. I wiped the sweat from my brow and my heart raced. My cousin dug out his old bits box and we dived in.
This is my Chaos space marine with close combat weapon and plasma pistol made from a regular space marine and Warhammer Fantasy pieces :p
most of these pieces are at least 8-10 years old and as kids we treated them poorly. I had to cut off lots of glue and file parts where the sprue snapped. I attempted to make it look like chips from bullets (See shoulder armor) and hopefully with paint it will be more obvious. I had 0 actual Chaos space marine pieces to use so I had to go heavy with the fantasy to make sure he didn't just look like a regular space marine!
To my surprise I found the modelling aspect of the hobby just as enjoyable as the painting. Although I am a terrible painter with really only 5 models experience under my belt, I will update this thread with picture's of the painted model!
tl;dr: First post, returning noob attempt at conversion!
