I'm putting together a Retribution of Scyrah army for Warmachine and I'd like to paint each of the four houses in the army a different scheme corresponding to the four seasons. I'm having some trouble coming up with good ways to differentiate between "spring" and "summer" color schemes, and I'd like some ideas to help me really make each season stand out. I'm open to any advice you want to offer. Thanks!
I'm considering the following:
Spring - Light greens, light browns, bright metallics, bright blues, yellows and reds to pick out details. Bases will have some green, some sparse brown and some rocks. "Mage hunter" units - These will be the mage hunter strike force, infiltrators, stormfall archers, solos like Eiryss, mage hunter assasins, and warcasters like Ravyn and Garreth.
Summer - Different shades of green, reds, orange, and yellow to pick out details. Bases will be almost all green, flocked with grass. House shyeel units - House shyeel battlemages, solos like artificers and magisters, and warcasters like Rahn and Issyria.
Fall - Different shades of brown, orange, and red. Bases will have brown grass and lots of leaves. Houseguard units - This will include halberdiers, riflemen, rifle teams, solos like the houseguard thane, arcanists, and warcasters like Ossyan.
Winter - Blues, greys, and white. Bases will be stone with some ice and snow. Dawnguard units - These will be the Destors, invictors, sentinels, solos like destor thanes, scyirs, fane knight, and warcasters like Vyros.
Myrmidons will be painted to match the warcaster I usually field them with, so anything with an arcnode would go with Rahn, phoenixes will have a nice summer/flame vibe.
