Hey guys, my friends and me are experimenting with an alternative objectives system that is pretty fun to play with. Any advice/comments are very welcome!

Roll a number of times on the table below to set the types of Primary Victory Conditions. In games of 2000pts or less, roll three times and add another roll when you cross the 2000pts line, adding another when you cross the 4000pts line etc. So for example, when both players use 3000pts worth of models, the game totals 6000pts and you roll five objectives. If you score more than three times the same number, reroll the fourth, fifth etc. die that came up with that number.
You always gain a Victory Point for Slay the Warlord (just like the Eternal War objective).

1. Seize ground
 1st time: 1/3rd of the map can be seized (randomly decided). At the end of the game, if a player is the only one with units (at least one scoring unit) in the area, that player gains two Victory Points.
 2nd time: Add another 1/3rd to the map that can be seized. These areas can be captured independently from each other, each giving the owner two Victory Points.
 3rd time: Add the remaining area to the scoring area. A maximum of six Victory Points are achievable this way.

2. Hold the objective
 1st time: Players take turns in placing two objective markers. Once both markers are placed, one of them is worth 2 Victory Points, the other 3 Victory Points, decided randomly. These objectives are captured just like in the Eternal War missions.
 2nd time: Add another two objective markers. The extra objectives are worth 1 Victory Point and 2 Victory Points respectively.
 3rd time: Add another two objective markers. The extra objectives are worth 3 Victory Points and 4 Victory Points respectively.

3. Go for the price
 1st time: From the centre of the map, scatter an objective 3d6. If a hit is rolled, the objective still scatters but only 2d6. This objective works just like the Relic in the Eternal War missions.
 2nd time: Instead of scattering from the centre of the map, pick two points on the centre line, each 24” from the middle and scatter just like above.
 3rd time: From the centre of the map, scatter an objective. Then, pick two points on the centre line, each 24” from the middle and scatter just like above. These Relics are also Mysterious Objectives.

4. Crush them
 1st time: Roll a d6; on a 1-3 all Heavy Support units are scoring and give 1 Victory Point to the attacker when killed, on a 4-6 all Fast Attack units are scoring units and give 1 Victory Point to the attacker when killed.
 2nd time: All Heavy Support and Fast Attack units are scoring and give 1 Victory Point to the attacker when killed.
 3rd time: All units award 1 Victory Point to the attacker when killed.

5. Break the line
 1st time: A player with at least one scoring unit within an enemy player’s deployment zone, gains 1 Victory Point at the end of the game. If there are multiple enemy deployment zones, each player can earn 1 Victory Point for each enemy deployment zone they have a scoring unit in.
 2nd time: In addition to the above, earn 1 (additional) Victory Point for each enemy unit that flees off the board edge due to a Morale Check you caused. Also, when your own deployment zone is clear of enemy units (not just scoring), you earn an additional Victory Point.
 3rd time: In addition to the above, any units you deploy through reserves that are still alive at the end of the game award you 1 Victory Point each.

6. King of the hill
 1st time: Randomly choose 1 piece of area terrain or a building outside of any deployment zone to be objectives. These objectives are claimed just like the Eternal War missions, with one exception; to claim one of these objectives, you must have a scoring unit within the area terrain or building (not within 2”) and to contest, you need to have a denying unit within the area terrain or building (not within 2”). These objectives award 2 Victory Points to the player claiming it at the end of the game.
 2nd time: Randomly choose 1d3 + 1 pieces of area terrain or buildings to be objectives.
 3rd time: In addition to the above, killing an enemy unit who is occupying an objective, awards the attacker with 1 Victory Point.

I really, really like King of the Hill in particular. I'm running a small tourney next month and I think I'll borrow that

Go for the Prize is hella broken. If the relic scatters into my deployment zone, I win. For serious.

IDE agree with dakkamite, go for the prize is pritty broken, I love king of the hill games, I like the idea of The hill changing location on each turn but having more than one hill kinda ruins it, the other point is gaining a VP for killing a unit holding the objective will lead to players sitting back and not charging into the objective in the hopes of scoring VP threw objective holding kills alone.
A good idea would either have it so that you gain a point for holding it at the end of each turn, if contested then no points are given, also it would mix things up if the objective changed each turn although that could either work out for a really good game or a really bad game.
I'm working on idea's for a competitive king of the hill scenario so once I've figured it out ill post it here and see what you think.

Great feedback guys, keep it coming.

We only tried a few of these Victory Conditions, and they were thrown together in very little time. The idea was to slowly work towards a set of Victory Conditions that would make every game feel unique.

I believe, that when you have to adapt to changing conditions all the time, your tactical mind will be challenged the most and the game will be more fun overall.
