I'm attempting to make a standard list for me to use in 1000 points games. This is what I have so far:

HQ
Sammael - Jetbike

Techmarine - Bike

RCS - 5 bikes, Apothecary, Standard of Devastation, Champion.

TROOPS
RAS - 3 Bikes, + 1 Attack bike with MM
RAS - 3 Bikes, + 1 Attack bike with MM
RAS - 3 Bikes
RAS - 3 Bikes

So as a SoD list, the build of course focus' around the RCS, who will act as as a focus point and deathstar unit. The champion is a cheap character model and gives precision plasma shots as well as challenge shenanigans without risking the apothecary, Sam or the techmarine.

Sammael will be on his jetbike to add wounds to the unit, as well as give them a little more punch in cc.
The tech marine will act as a as a meat shield for the unit, with his 2+ save and LOS. Also will be used to counter Heldrakes. Improved cover maybe of marginal use in some lineups.

The RAS are left bare, as the majority of their game will be spent firing bolters as opposed to other tasks. They still have krak genades, so remain a threat to most vehicles in cc.
The attack bikes will be used for their scout move and MM to remove heavy armour threats.

The list hopes to use the advantages of the Ravenwing over the Whitescars (SoD banner, smaller cheap scoring units) to remain competitive.

Originally I had thought about giving 3 of the RAS meltaguns, and one of them flamer throwers, instead of the techmarine, but decided this may be overkill.

Any thoughts?

HQ
Sammael - Jetbike

RCS - 4 bikes, Apothecary, Standard of Devastation, Champion.

TROOPS
RAS - 3 Bikes, + 1 Attack bike with MM
RAS - 3 Bikes, + 1 Attack bike with MM
RAS - 3 Bikes, + 1 Attack bike with MM
RAS - 3 Bikes, + 1 Attack bike with MM

This is an alternate I am considering, dropping the techmarine and 1 black knight, and getting 2 more attack bikes.
8 scoring units and a good amount of anti tank, though a weaker command squad.

You really don't need the ravenwing champ, unwieldy and AP3 is not worth it. Techmarine is OK, but without an invul he is a bit expensive. Nothing in your list makes use of the defensive bolster.

In the first list, get a libby on the bike over a techmarine, and spring for some kind of invul save, even if you can only afford a combat shield.

In your second list, some special weapons on the bikes may be a good idea. Other than 2-4 multi meltas your lists lack the ability to deal with AV14.

I have been thinking about running with a pure Ravenwing army, I like the look of your list, however I have been advised that a Librarian on a bike really compliments this type of army. In particular the ability to make the bikers invisible is a bit stiff.

Ravenwing champion is for more precision plasma shots and challenges, not for the sword.

In a larger points game a libby would certainly be added with a PFG, however in 1k games the challenge is to fit it all in.

A libby with PFG and a bike is 115 points, this would require me to lose 2 attack bikes, or a black rider and a RAS, would this be worth the trade? I'm not sure, more bodies on the board is generally better. The RCS already have a 4+ cover save, so most high ap weapons will be covered, the only real dangers are heldrakes and markerlights.

Sammael has a 4++ save, so he would be used to help tank heldrakes, to some extent.

Level 2 would push him up to 150 points. Sam, plus a librarian and the command squad would cause the HQ to cost 650 points. This is a little much for HQ in 100 points imo.

How much AV 14 do you face in your meta? must be a lot, most lists would struggle to fit in 2 Landraiders.

The Twilight Zone

2 raiders at 1k is not uncommon, and 3 by 1250 or 1500 is normal. Also see a lot of necron av13 walls, or preds/vindicators. I suppose with bikes you can always assault and spam krak grenades up the tail pipe...and 1 raider could probably be ignored.

Since your at 1k, no need to go for the tricked out level 2 PFG libby. A libby costs only 15 points more than the techmarine, and having a psyker is probably more helpful in the long run. Improved deny the witch, a force weapon and psychic powers are worth springing for, and any invul save you can get is a "just in case" contingency. The techmarine is OK for a 2+ armor save and a free power fist swing, but that is really it. Required if drakes are common where you play. OK challenge chump, but most things won't make it to combat with you. Assault should be on your terms, and you have hit and run if you need to bail. Alternatively, dropping the tech for a 3rd attack bike and keeping the squad 5 strong may be an option. Off alone, those attack bikes really only get 1 chance to do something then die, and your command squad is your only other ranged AT. Having to assault chimeras or rhinos and krak grenade them wastes the potential of the bolter banner. It puts you 1-2 turns behind of shooting your opponent to death, while your small bike squads have to weather fire. You want the boxes open fast so you can shoot the soft insides.
