Winter War is an 8 week event that will pit players against each other on the snowy fields of battle, earning points while painting and playing in an effort to become the league champion! Along the way, players will have their skills tested with bonuses for scenario victories and point-cost altering battlefield conditions. This league is run by and for the Warmachine/Hordes community!
When: The first week of the league officially kicks off on Monday, January 6th and will last 8 weeks.

League Summary
Each player will choose a faction they will play for the duration of the league when they sign up.
League games may be played at any of the following point values: 15, 25, 35, 42, 50, 75+, with larger games being worth more points.
Test your strategic might by taking advantage of 4 different point cost modifiers over the duration of the league as well as bonus points for scenario victories!
Earning glory on the battlefield isn't the only way to score points. Earn league points for painting, playing new warcasters/warlocks, and playing different players!
Scoring
Upon entry, each player will get a score sheet that will be kept in a binder behind the counter. After each game or when you finish painting a model, fill it out using this handy table! The player with the highest total at the end of the league will be our champion!
League Rules
You may play as many games per week as you like, but you must play someone else before playing a player again.
A player may only claim painting points for models that are usable in their league faction.
Each painting category can be scored a maximum of 3 times.
Games may be played using scenarios for Steamroller 2013, Steamroller 2014 (when available), and the
WM/H core rulebooks, or just assassination!
Prizes
Prizes will scale with attendance. Winners will receive store credit good for anything from the Warmachine/Hordes stock ONLY. We want to see our champion keep investing in the game and community!
Battlefield Conditions
Every two weeks, there will be a new global modifier for army construction. These bonuses aren't gigantic, but they allow for some interesting list building opportunities that would otherwise be impossible at certain point levels! Note: These bonuses do not stack with any similar bonuses from tier lists! No 4 point heavies, dawg!
January 6th - January 19th: Production Increase/Uncontrolled Breeding
All non-character heavy warjacks and heavy warbeasts costs are reduced by 1 (This does not affect colossals or gargantans).
January 20th - February 2nd: Deep Coffers
Each player may add one
PC: 2 or less minion or mercenary solo to their list at no cost. This must be a model that can be fielded legally.
February 3rd - February 16th: Recruitment Boom
Up to 2 friendly faction units have their point cost reduced by 1.
February 17th - March 2nd: Forced Conscription
One mercenary/minion unit in your army becomes a friendly faction unit (It is no longer a mercenary/minion).
If the buzz about this is any indication, this league is going to be great! Rich and I based this largely on what everyone enjoyed during the escalation league. I hope to see a bunch of you guys on the battlefield.
