Concept 1: Baal Techmarine
I really don't like the looks of the bikes in 40k but I can't deny their advantages on the field of war. So my first concept was that my successor chapter of BA (as yet unnammed) has a very savy techmarine who has engineered or some how uncovered a mod for terminator armour. Using kit bashed feet from some old Heavy Gear mechs I'd like to put tracked feet on terminator armour giving them the speed of a bike, and the armour of the bike.
I have no plans to mess with the rules. They would be treated exactly the same as bikes in the game and I would base them on the same size bases as the bikes. I just wanted a way to field bikes that didn't make me want to gag everytime I looked at them....

Concept 2: DC following in Lemartes' footsteps
What if an increasing number of DC began to develop enough control to supress the urges of the Thirst and could maintain some semblence of grip on reality?
I just love the look of the DC armour soooo much that I'd love to see more of them in my army. Thinking of doing a reverse color sceme with black crosses on red armour or maybe white crosses on black armour.

My successor chapter would largly be based around the idea of concept 2. Perhaps consisting of these DC members (name idea = The Restrained) . Obviously the chapter would need heavy observation from non DC BA to ensure none strayed from the path.

Pop some thoughts out for me folks!

I like the idea about the terminator-bike things, and color wise for "The Restrained" black on red would be much easier to model from my experience (I used to use white on green, hated painting it) and finally I like the idea, but exactly how calm would they be? because this could dip into Mary Sue territory if you are not careful.

My impression (some one correct me if I'm wrong) is that the red thirst is vampirism and the DC have simply lost control and cannot resist the urge for blood. I'm thinking that certain members simply possess enough mental fortitude to regain a modicum of control and would not be the berseker death dealing butchers that true DC become.

DC are permanemtly engulfed in a vision of Horus' duel with Sanguinius.

So the theory of a modicum of control similar to Lemartes' is plausible to have spread to a limited number of DC marines.
