So I have a few lists for people to critique. We have a fledgling group starting up and we are all bring 750pt lists to see are various play styles.

I came up with 3 different lists, please tell me which you like, or using various modules how you would change them.

- Shield Eternal

Scout Squad 110
- Camo
- Speeder Storm

Tac Squad A 160
+5 men
- Flamer
- Plascannon

Tac Squad B 115
- melta gun
- Drop Pod

Stormtalon 125
- Skyhammer

Thunderfire

This one has a little bit of everything. Large squad to stay on any home objective, speeder and talon to move around the board, and the pod to put pressure on them from the very beginning.

All up in their face. Lots of pods, plus the damned will be right on top of them. The TFC and attack bike will be by themselves hiding on turn one, then will be able to fire across the board, and zoom up there respectively.

This one has the most people. Using the ironclad as a threat while the larger squads run up the table.

Some common ideas are the Libby. as he is the cheapest most survialable HQ that can be as effective with the drop pods crashing in with his force weapon, or standing back and casting presecnces (sp?) or perfect timing on the TFC.

Tell me what you think and which you feel would do the best.

SM libbys can not tak divination and frankly, i would lose all the extra bling on him. Keep him cheap and take more bodies or armour

Agree with above the bling is for chapter masters, keep librarians cheep and plentiful.

And honestly I wouldn't choose any of the lists other then #2 and for that drop the attack bike and take combi meltas on all sargents, and replace the flamer with a melta as well (or grav guns).

If you don't think there will be a lot of AV units swap all meltas for grav guns.

Yeah you Librarian has about 75 points worth of gear more than he should have. And as above, they cannot take Divination; only Tigurius can.

I think the second list is the best, if you cut out the useless wargear on the Librarian. I would use the saved points to put Combi-Weapons on the tactical sergeants, a few more bodies for the Tactical Squads, and a Multi-Melta on the Attack bike.

Ok. As I'm playing Salamanders the drop pod list is what I was lean towards. and honeslty I'm not sure what the other guys will be bringing as its a pretty big mix of eldar, tau, tyranids, and SM.

Thoughts?

Not a huge fan of foot slogging tac marines, too many things can chew them up as they move slowly to objectives. Need some transpo, rhinos, razorbacks, or pods, depends on what you want the list to do. if you are dropping them, then flamers/melta are your friend, otherwise it just depends what you want them to do. I just dont see your opponant letting you getting anywhere near his armor with the meltas if they are just walking up to it.

LOTD are awesome and will knock out any real armor at 750 pretty well on thier own.
