Hello! As I've gained a LRBT and a Valkyrie for xmas, I've salvaged some human models in an attempts to get my 293rd Landsharks regiment started. They're going to be working in tandem with my CSM warband fluff-wise, and possibly as allies at times.

Thus far I have the following for a legal 500 points list:

-Primaris Psyker [70 pts]
-Psyker Battle Squad w/+2 [80 pts]
-Veteran Squad w/Shotgun [70 pts]
-Veteran Squad w/Bolt Pistol, Grenade Launcher, Sniper [82 pts]
-LR Exterminator w/Lascannon, Heavy Bolters, Storm Bolter [195 pts]
[497 pts]

Tight now, I can't really change up anything here, and my next few purchases are going to be CSM focussed, so on the subject of this list, I would just like some tactical help/advice with these guys.
The plan is to get a Manticore, 2 Chimeras and some more LRBT's. SO hopefully that'll put me on track.

And on to a question of weaponry. I have gotten a Valkyrie gunship (yey ), but I've realized that to field it as a WYSIWYG Vendetta, I'd have to buy the Lascannons from ForgeWorld. Which I'm not prepared to do atm. So the question is: Would you (in a non-tourney) game find it acceptable for me to use the Missile Pods as a "Counts as" for twin-linked lascannons, with the explanation that "they fire a small number of small missiles at the exact same spot in order to carve a hole through the target"?

I'd view it in the same manner as any other "this plasma gun is really a melta gun" situation, I wouldn't try and allocate a fluff reasoning to it.

Also, you should be able to gather some plastic lascannons from bits sellers for cheaper than FW (Predators, Land Raiders, Razorbacks... or anything really, the barrel is the most distinctive part after all), or if feeling brave, make some out of plasticard tubes?

Magnetize it's weapons so you can change it on the fly and add the lascannons later. Personally in a casual game I wouldn't mind about the proxy.

For tactics with your list, I would keep the Russ and vets with GL back as a fire base, attactch the psyker to the vets so he doesn't die and prescience the leman Russ (he can take divination powers right?) then keep your veterans as a counter attack unit to launch onto an objective late game, field them in the Valkyrie once you've built it and drop them out on turn five to get an objective.
