A fairly simple question. Which came first, the Mont'Ka or the Ethereal'? Did the fire caste develop the killing blow before the Ethereals came about during the tau civil wars, or did they show them the new combat techniques when they arrived?

First, at the time there was no fire caste, just the ancestors of the fire caste, although practically the same thing. Mont"ka and Kauyon were based on ancient hunting techniques, so at the very least the origins of the Mont'Ka and Kauyon were there.
