Crooked Claw started two years ago as a private venture with the intention to build up a range of 28mm Goblin miniatures sculpted by Kevin Adams, the man behind the late 80s Citadel Orcs & Goblin ranges. With about 40 infantry sized miniatures and two war machines available Kevin started on more ambitious projects in late 2013:

a wolfrider boss

With the sculpting done master and production moulds have to be made in order get the new miniatures cast up. Moulding and casting add considerable costs to each addition to the existing range and come with the risk of overstocking on items, in turn reducing my financial capabilities to commision new sculpts.

This is where this campaign and you come in. By funding this campaign you will guarantee to get existing sculpts cast up and in return get your hands on them first and at a discounted rate within a few weeks after the campaign ends. Please keep in mind that you are not funding vapor ware or digital concepts but a physical product ready for production.

Stretch Goals

£500: If the initial amount is met the wolf rider boss will be accompanied by four fellow pillaging loonies that are sculpted as we speak. The wolf rider regiment comprising five mounted goblins incl. full command will be available to pledgers for 20 GBP.

for those not familiar with Indiegogo this is a fixed campaign, your money is taken as soon as you pledge but refunded if the campaign fails.

If you want multiple pledge levels (or multiple copies of a single pledge level) just pledge for them again.

If you want to back out you have to message the project organiser for a refund (which they don't have to give) which is a pain so be sure you want the pledge before backing

So, it seems really amateur, which I don't mind, but I hope the campaign is successful for the company and the backers.

I want to back this but it's a bit awkward since you can't buy any of the existing models through it and there's no credit system (something which is practically required if you want to run a good indiegogo due to the way they charge). And since there's stretch goals, might need to end up getting a refund on one pledge to pick another as the campaign progresses.

It's a very cool line of minis, great to see that Kev is well enough to work on it again.

The webstore for the current line has 20% off and free shipping + unreleased mini for orders over £40 until Dec 31st which seems like a much better place to put the money right now if you like the minis.

£1.50 per goblin (or £1 per goblin if you buy the random pack!) is a rather nice price to start with too. And all in glorious 1-piece pewter.



Very tempting! It's been a while since I looked at the range and I had no idea there were 40 different sculpts done for it.

The chariot with the goblin holding a rabbit on a stick out in front of the wolves is awesome.

Well that's the conundrum do you help fund the new production ? or buy existing stuff ? (or both?)

Having some/all of the existing stuff available might bring in more cash, but would add extra hassle in terms of packing/shipping (as he may well not have much of the existing stuff on hand) etc which might not be ideal for an individual doing this for 'fun' rather than as a business

A couple of pics of the wolf rider troops unlocking shortly (only £15 to go)

The wolf rider troops are now unlocked,

£25 for 5 (5 different riders, 3 different wolves)

Wolf riders and wolves are off to the caster (when the masters are done Kev will be creating 2 additional different wolves based on the original)

We've also got the first look at the additional infantry unlocked at £1000 (we're at £960 so far so not long to go)



Two additional archers (some details still to be added), two spearmen and one standard bearer will be available in order to add more variety to the existing infantry range. These miniatures will only be available through the campaign and later be part of the respective packs already in production .

These mins are beautiful. To me, this will always be what a proper gobbo looks like!

That stone thrower is making me nostalgic for the Man Mangler and Skull Crusher, happy memories.

Perhaps it's time to build an old school orcs and gobbos army for whfb, using these kits and the old stuff going on ebay.

I wish I could justify getting the catapult myself but there will be for painting and display only and I just haven't got space for war machines that are 'just' going to sit there looking super cool, sigh

the scouts will share the wolves with the other riders. If Kev finds the time one wolf may get some stuff to make it more boss like and a worthy mount for the unit champ.

My initial impression was wrong: this is actually a KS Limited wolf rider hero, grab him quick if you want him
