Hello dakka dakka community!
I've decided to return to the hobby after many years absence. I originally got into Warhammer 40k around 2004, and I was about 13 or 14. I chose tyranids and my younger brother chose space marines. I was more interested in the modelling and painting side of things than gaming. We did try coming up with our own way of battling them though, since we couldn't afford the rulebook.

But anyway, after seeing some awesome paint jobs and converted models, I've decided I'll start on my tyranids again. I'm planning on doing a custom paint scheme and lots of green stuff sculpting to enhance details. I've also just found my old tyranids, (which I originally painted with hive fleet behemoth colours) so I'm going to try to salvage them, especially as I'm older now and could do a much better job now.

I will also look into actually learning the official rules. It would be nice to be able to properly battle my minis once they are done, even though I'm an artist at heart and the most fun is in the building and painting side, I would like to give the actual game a go.
