I am IG and love my tanks. So I jumped with glee when I heard about ABG being an option. In my local meta we don't play objectives and only play kill points so the lack of scoring units isn't a problem. Also there is a freind who I want to screw over who uses 2 lists: CSM Plauge Zombies list (no anti vehicle apart from one defiler) and a shooty orks army (genrally lootas, shoota boys in trukks and one warboss with a power klaw meaning that he only has a power klaw to kill armour). I also recently acquired a baneblade and want to use it in normal games. Does anyone know a way to fit a shadowsword/stormsword (It says on 1d4chan that the stormsword's main cannon instakills any vehicle on a 3+ but there's nothing in the rules that says that so can anyone clarify that for me?) into a 750 point list So here's a list I came up with:

HQ:
Company Comand Tank (Vanquisher) w/ Co-Axal Heavy Stubber, Hull Mounted Lascannon, Sponson Multi Meltas - 220

Troops:
Tank Squadron: 1 Leman Russ Demolisher w/ Slick Loader, Hull Mounted Heavy Bolter, Sponson Mounted Heavy Bolters, Pintle Mounted Heavy Stubber - 215

Armoured Fist Squad w/ Melta Gun - 115

Heavy Support:

Medusa w/ Closed Compartment, Bastion Breacher Shells, Camo Netting, Slick Loader - 200

750 points on the dot.

Umm, 3 tanks an an arnoured fist squad isn't that many models, remember the vanquisher has armour 14/13/10 and thus can get glanced to death by orks in CC which isn't that hard when you only have again 3 tanks and 9 lasguns.

I would drop the armoured fist squad because its not that great,
I would drop the hull mounted lascannon and sponsons of MM on the vanquisher.
I would drop the medusa and all upgrades, and buy some plain colossus because they ignore cover.

You're using the wrong list - the list was updated in Imperial Armor Volume 1: Second Edition. The list which you are using is the update for 5th Edition which came out 28AUG2008

That said, if you are using the new list:

I would keep the hull lascannon on the vanquisher but replace the multimelta sponsons with Beast Hunter shells, and add Artificer Hull.

I would drop the armored fist squad and the Medusa, because each vehicle is weaker than a Russ hull and will be focus-fired by weapons that cannot hurt the Russes.

I would replace the Demolisher with a Thunderer to make it cheaper.

I would use the remaining points to purchase a second Leman Russ command tank equipped with Infernus Shells (but not Artificer Hull).

Then I would add a techpriest enginseer just to keep your warlord alive. Repairing hull points is hilarious.

thank you for letting me know! I didn't even know that I was using the wrong list

well I need 2 troops choices without the armoured fist squad I only have 1. Also the armoured fist squad would hide behind the Russes, out of LoS.

I would use the remaining points to purchase a second Leman Russ command tank equipped with Infernus Shells (but not Artificer Hull).

The problem here is that I only have 2 Leman Russes and am quite low on cash right now but could try to get one off of ebay, anyway I couldn't take it as a command tank because I need another troops choise.

Then I would add a techpriest enginseer just to keep your warlord alive. Repairing hull points is hilarious.

I agree completely, techpriest would be great for an ABG army and I can troll lootas trying to glance my side armour to death

I would drop the hull mounted lascannon and sponsons of MM on the vanquisher.

yeah, I was trying to fill points at the end and make it a badass vehicle killer at the same time, as I mentioned before I don't have many russes to fill up points

So Here's another list I came up with from your advice:

HQ:
Company Comand Tank (Vanquisher) w/ Co-Axal Heavy Stubber, Beast Hunter Shells, Artificer Hull - 195

Company Comand Tank (LRBT) w/ Infernus Shells - 165

Elites:
Tech-Priest Enginseer w/ 2 servitors (hides behind the tanks and repairs them) - 75

Troops:
RLBT w/ Heavy Stubber - 160

Thunderer w/ Heavy Stubber - 150

With the power of proxying I can make this list happen whilst I make money to get another two Russes

That's a great list too. The Armored Fist squad can always bd thrown in later - infantry become more useful as points increase.

You undercosted this, it is actually 210. You could easily drop the stubbers on your troops to get the points though.

List looks like it could be fun though. I would be afraid to be the tech priest though, all the infantry fire will be directed at him.

I wouldn't worry about him, he will be hiding behind the russes and repairing them.
