That's an awful lot of gear on the captain for a 750pt list.

Do you have an idea for what you're going up against or do you want to run it as a fun / take-all-comers list?

I agree, if you are gunna drop that many points on your hq, at least make him a cm.

Also digital weapons are really a waste of points on him anyway and I don't think you can take the teeth of terra a power fist and a storm sheild. May be wrong on this, don't have my book on me

Just a list to be able to play against anybody. I can drop the teeth of terra and the digital weapons off the captain in place for a jump pack. I'm using the iron hands chapter tactics.

I agree too many points in HQ, at 750 I always go for a Lvl 2 Libby w force axe. You can take teeth, PF and SS but as you can't use them all at once there isn't much point unless you're going for having an option...

Other than the HQ, doesn't look too bad all though imo, you'd be better off with a rhino instead of the pod as it's more reliable and you can use it as cover too.

With the extra points shaved off the HQ, I'd turn the dread into a rifledread (no ven) and take a speeder - typhoon if you can afford it

Combat squad the tacs and stick the serg and melta half in the razorback w the libby. Use the rifledread for anti-tank, at 750 you won't see much high armour stuff so should be ok. This should work against most list

The reasoning behind the captain was I don't really like any of the other HQs besides the chapter master and he was too expensive for this list. The captain had all 3 so he could fight saves of 3+ with the teeth at initiative value and terminators and armour with his fist, and the storm shield for the 3+ invulnerable.

Paynes re-write is exactly what I'd recommend too. Even if you use your captain the list is a good friendly TAC list.
