Hello! This is a potential list I came up with for the Red Scorpions. I wanted it to be FUN.

I don't play with FW stuff; but aren't red scorpions the ones with Severin Loth? He's better thana standard libby by a mile.

Personally I wouldn't buy a Damocles Rhino just for one drop pod. It's not worth the points and it's especially not worth the money. I also wouldn't waste a librarian by parking him on the gun emplacement the whole game. I'd put him in a squad and let him go to town. If you want a cheap unit to man your guns I would suggest a scout squad. It's cheaper and will hold out longer under fire. Also, from my personal experience, having a list with mixed units is usually more fun than a list where all your troop choices are identical, all your elite choices are identical, etc.

I would run a list closer to this:

HQ:
Librarian - 70pts
- storm bolter

Elites:
Contemptor Mortis Dreadnought - 220pts
- TL lascannon x 2
- cyclone missile launcher

Sternguard Squad - 205pts
- combi weapon x 5
- drop pod

Troops:
10 man Tactical Squad - 195pts

10 man Tactical Squad - 195pts
- drop pod

Scout Squad - 83pts
- sergeant (to man gun emplacement)
- sniper scout x 6

Aegis Defense Line - 85pts
- icarus lascannon

Should come out to 1248 points. Also consider replacing the meltaguns with meltabombs, dropping the two extra scouts, and using the left over points to buy some different special/heavy weapons for utility.

Hmm, have never used Stern Guard before. I hear they are great, but pricey! Also: Just incase you didn't know. The Mortis Contemptor is a HS choice currently. :( Kinda sad, but it has armor 13 front with 5+ I save I believe.
