Anyone know how to turn off the auto renewal? I can not see the "Account Setting" button anywhere within the app. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked in Settings?

Go to the settings program (not in the WD one, the one with cogs on the front) and scroll down the sidemenu and see if you can find an entry for WD there. if you can, it is possible that they have their account services there. Otherwise, Contact apple and GW. You probably can't get your money back, but you can certainly stop it happening again.

And one more WD staffer cries out: Nooooooooo!!!!!!

That mag has been stripped of anything useful down to small micro publications being sold by the Black Library.

It is too bad it is literally little more than a product pamphlet.

Been many a year since it has been anything other than a product pamphlet.

Okay, how about no attempt at all of being anything but a pamphlet.
Extra fluff stories would appear, painting guides, conversions, etc.
I think the entire heavy metal team got the axe and all you see is the WD group frantically putting out middling work when not doing their primary job.
Now, any cool extras that used to be posted at their site at the very least are only available for purchase.
I guess it is irritating to see confirmed at all fronts that ALL GW works are to be monetized.

I've wondered about the 'eavy metal team for awhile now. Seems like they must have been axed quite a long time ago. It was obvious the text going along with the paint articles weren't reviewed for accuracy; and the quality of the work wasn't that great. I remember one showing how to paint a marine biker where they primed it black, then put nuln oil over the thing. I'm not sure why they did that as the nuln oil wash ruined the paint job. The paint had pooled and streaked so badly that it looked like someone just dumped the pot over the bike. Some looked like they had used Photoshop to try and fix various issues, but they failed to keep the contrast consistent between images which made it even harder to see what was going on... Finally, at least one a month had an issue where it was impossible to tell if the corresponding paint had actually been applied to the model at all; while they failed to talk about paint that did show up.

The whole thing just seemed like a rush job where the editors really didn't care about the content and was more interested in just putting it out there. Kind of like the 'Eavy Metal Masterclass book... it had a number of issues with contrast where it was simply too dark to tell exactly what had changed from one image to the next.

Honestly, I'd pay $10 for the WD if they simply had decent gaming articles and paint guides that honestly showed how to get particular effects. For example, here are a few ways to do a blend or here are a few ways to handle edging/highlighting. etc. The problem is that type of stuff needs to be put together by a staff that has an attention to detail and honestly cares about the content itself; and those people don't work for peanuts.
