Trying to refine a tourney list for next weekend. Max 1HQ Two Of heavy, elite and fast and no doubling up of any of these. No allies

Chaos Lord- MON, Bike, power fist, Burning brand of Skalthrax, Sigil of Corruption 185pts

5 plague marines]- plasma gun, champion with power maule, Rhino 185pts

5 plague marines- champion with power axe, Rhino 170pts

5 bikers- MON, 2 melta guns 186pts

Heldrake- Baleflamer 170pts

3 Obliterators- MON 228pts

18 cultists- MON, Heavy stubber, three autoguns 126pts

I would like some opinions on this and what your thoughts are on how it would play against Tourney armies today

Questions are...why would chaos spawn be so much better than bikers?

Better to have cultists to hold your own objectiives or sacrifice them for more plague marines...why?

is there a better loadout for a nurgle lord and why?

and does anyone have a real proven tactic to take out a Tau gunline?

Because if they got shot at or slashed at with ap3 weapons they dont melt like butter. The bikers have the jink save so that helps while they're moving but...
Also spawn are scarier in close combat, and are beasts, so they can move through cover no problem while bikers treat ever bump in the road as a bullet to the face.

cultists are great for that backfield objective. a 50 point squad of 10 is not a bad idea at all. Other than that, you will want either zombies or plague marines because plague marines kick ass! Lots of cultists doesnt usually work great, but i've seen them do incredible things. I wouldn't take more than 2 squads for no other reason than because i've seen squads of them take out 200 or 300 point marine HQs/Squads with just mass of fire.

Thats a fine loadout, but you could also take a PF/LC combo, or a black mace/murder sword combo.

I do not. Never played Tau, much less with a nurgle army.

I've been told that just taking normal marines and giving them mark of nurgle is better and cheaper, can run more and equip them with more variety at around the same cost. I like running squads of 20, works like a blob og IG but better

Thanks, good answers and I can tweak my list from what I have already....I was toying with normal marines but I would not get feel no pain or fearless as basic.

And can anyone help with that damn tau gunline?
