Personally I don't like the rhinos, you could go with combi and special weapon, and drop pod on tacs instead think that would be more useful drop a thunder fire add add a command squad on bikes or just more bikes debs are a bit rubbish.

To take advantage of IH ct you really need as much av as possible. Instead of tfcs take whirlwinds. Instead of debs take preds. That sort of thing.

Would a bike count as a vehicle? Because if so that means IWND on attack bikes.

I don't need to elaborate on how awesome that would be.

I agree that the Rhinos are kind of a risk. But don't nix them entirely, maybe run a few Pods and Rhinos. Also consider that IWND on a Pod means you could have a virtually unkillable gun platform via deathstrike launcher thingy. It's not even worth it to shoot at that now because if you don't kill it outright, it's probably gonna regen and it's so cheap that any firing it soaks up doesn't actually matter. Thats a free pie plate every turn! The Rhinos on the other hand... they can get penned so easy and then end up pinning a half dead squad in your backfield. However once you get the troops out of them I find that they tend to draw less fire, meaning more use as mobile cover. Plus once the guys are out you don't care if they get shot at.

What Jamo said about taking advantage of tactics is true as well, though maybe not if you're looking to go to a tournament. With the TFCs you get a free Techie, which, correct me if I'm wrong but can't be still operate as a Techie after the gun gets blown up? That could be a handy way to get a free Techie out there, he's nice because he can actually fix weapons and stuff too where IWND is just a hull point and similarly the Repair function of a Rhino only fixes the Immobilised result and not the hull damge. I would however make room for a Predator in there. They are a good choice and cheap as well, even at their most expensive triple las config.

And personally, I'm just sayin' a Quad Gun has really great math behind it. I was thinking of some kind of Chapter Master, Honor Guard, Aegis, Quad Gun backline deathstar thingy where the CM basically hangs out and tanks wounds with the regen, the Company Champ fires the gun for that one turn where you Orbital, then for the rest of the game you fire it with the CM and wait for some sucker to charge you...




Gets along better with animals... Go figure.

Those are good ideas, although I think anything with hullpoints is risky (the rhinos are to stop my squads from being insta-killed on turn 1). This army concedes first blood if you don't go first.

I might consider putting a tac squad in a pod because it will come in turn one. Might get lonely though- maybe replace a tac with some Sternguard for backfield shenanigans?
