Hi.

As we are playing an escalation league in our group I thought about building a 1000 list now. We just started with the 500 Point step and after that we will likely have a 750 Point step. But I think it's a nice idea to build a 1000 Points list, so that I have something to aim for.
I thought one of these lists could be nice:

List 1 (Hive Tyrant and 2 Hive Crones):
Spoiler:

HQ
Flyrant 230

Troops
24 Hormagaunts 120
25 Hormagaunts 125

Elite
Zoanthrophe 50
2 Hive Guard 165

Fast Attack
Hive Crone 155
Hive Crone 155

List 2 (Hive Tyrant, Hive Crone and Tervigon):
Spoiler:

HQ
Flyrant with 2 twin-linked devourers 230

Troops
30 Termagants (15 Fleshboarers, 15 Devourers) 180
Tervigon + Miasmacannon 220

Elite
Zoanthrophe 50
3 Hive Guard 165

Fast Attack
Hive Crone 155

List 3 (Hive Tyrant, Prime Warrior, Hive Crone and Tervigon):
Spoiler:

HQ
Flyrant with 2 twin-linked devourers 230
Prime Warrior with Venom Cannon 135 (walks with the Hive Guard)

Troops
30 Termagants 120
Tervigon 195

Elite
3 Hive Guard 165

Fast Attack
Hive Crone 155

What do you think? Any good ideas to improve my lists? Or completely other list ideas? I am open for any input

Thank you for your help!

best regards
plancktum

They are all low on Monstrous Creatures at 1k I would like to see at least 4 perhaps 5 on the board.

The first is the best of them (because at least everything is pulling in the same direction) but the Hive Crone is very brittle. Basically everything that is AA or used as AA is Ap4, most of it is S7 meaning if I hit it a wound goes on a 2+ with no saves for you. This means it needs very careful use (something the model itself nearly prohibits) or lots of other threats to take the heat off. Perhaps Dakkafexes would be a better fit.

Though Synapse is an issue with list 1 in particular. Perhaps taking more Zoanthropes instead of the Hiveguard would help more.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

You're right. But the Hive Crone in General is a good idea to put into the list?

So. One Idea could be to remove the Hive Guard and one Hive Crone and put in 2 Carnifexes and another Zoanthrophe?

Like this?
Spoiler:

---------- HQ (1) ----------

Hive Tyrant (195 points)
- Warlord
- Monstrous Bio-cannon
--- Twin-linked Devourers
- Monstrous Bio-cannon
--- Twin-linked Devourers

---------- Elite (2) ----------

Zoanthrope (50 points)

Zoanthrope (50 points)

---------- Troops (2) ----------

22x Hormagaunts (110 points)

22x Hormagaunts (110 points)

---------- Fast Attack (1) ----------

Hive Crone (155 points)

---------- Heavy Support (1) ----------

Carnifex Brood (330 points)
- Carnifex
--- Adrenal Glands
--- Monstrous Bio-cannon
----- Twin-linked Devourers
--- Monstrous Bio-cannon
----- Twin-linked Devourers
- Carnifex
--- Adrenal Glands
--- Monstrous Bio-cannon
----- Twin-linked Devourers

1000 points

Maybe gargoyles are a good idea?

That looks very strong now. I don't think you need gargoyles. They can't keep up with the FMCs and Hormagaunts can stay in front of the Fexes if your worried though I wouldn't be.

6 Devourers and 4 MCs is pretty strong at this point level. Though if you can get Onslaught on a Zoanthrope that makes a big difference.

Be careful with the HT though some armies can kill him in a turn fairly easily (Tau, Grey Knights & Necrons being the biggest concern though GKs need a failed grounding test to really nail you).
