Hey Dakka!
It's been a very long time since i've posted here but i need some help with a list that i'm building.
Currently my list seems to have trouble with armies such as Necrons and Tau.
Alright, here's what i have so far:
Primary Detachment (Dark Eldar)
HQ:
1x Haemonculus, Shattershard.
Elites:
4x Kabalite Trueborn, 4x Blasters, Venom, Nightshield, Splinter Cannon.
3x Kabalite Trueborn, 2x Splinter Cannons, Venom, Nightshield, Splinter Cannon.
Troops:
10x Kabalite Warriors, Splinter Cannons, Raider, Dark Lance, Nightshield, Splinter Racks.
5x Wyches, Haywire Grenades, Venom, Nightshield, Splinter Cannon.
Heavy Support:
1x Razorwing Jetfighter, Flickerfield, Splinter Cannon.
Allied Detachment (Eldar)
HQ:
1x Farseer, Singing Spear.
Elites:
5x Wraithguard, D-Scythes, Wave Serpent, Twin-Linked Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon.
Troops:
10x Dire Avengers, Exarch, Power Sword & Shimmershield, Wave Serpent, Twin-Linked Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon.
Fast Attack:
3x Shadow Spectres, Exarch, Prism Blaster.
Heavy Support:
1x Fire Prism, Shuriken Cannon.
That's what i've thought up so far and i still tend to get horrible stomped on when Tau turn up to the game, even when it's Nightfighting.
What should i do to the list to make it better at handling Tau and Necrons?
More massed fire, Wave Serpents, Deep Striking more?
Thanks for reading and if you have any ideas make sure to post them!

"Before Elves, before Dwarfs, before Men, the Old Ones arrived upon this world. Then came Chaos and the Great Plan of the Old Ones was unmade. We are the last of their servants, and only by our hand shall the Great Plan be restored, with the total defeat of the usurping younger races." |

It is a fairly solid list, so overall you should be OK. Night shields are the bane of necrons with their short ranged weapons, and with tau take out the suits. Night shields again help, but to a lesser extent.
Hamey is fine with the shattershard, but you probably want a venom blade just in case. Both armies are terrible in CC, and if you find yourself in combat, a venom blade breaks through the higher toughness but otherwise crappy fighting ability.
If armor is a problem, blasters are better than dual splinter cannon trueborn. T8 can instagib wraiths, crisis and broadsides if you can get the shot.
Keep your troops back unless they can get the kill shot. DE troops are fragile and both armies giving you problems can easily drop a raider/venom.
Overall more heavy support would be better. A couple of ravagers or more airpower. Tau can intercept/skyfire, so focus on these units before the razorwing arrives. Drop the splinter cannon from the razorwing. Most times you want 2 missile shots and both lances. I guess against a riptide or crisis team you may opt for the cannon over a missile, or against a mass horde, but those times are rare and your bird is paper thin. Invest elsewhere. If you are down to the lances and TL rifle, the bird has done its job.
Farseers are great, but locked in a transport you are not getting much boost. A spiritseer is cheaper, provides direct troop boosts, and makes the wraithguard scoring. Making the wraithguard troops adds much needed scoring to your army.
The avengers are decent in a serpent, and 4+ armor bounces most tau/necron battle rifles and even some heavy fire. Shimmershield is near worthless against necrons unless your up against wraiths in CC, and iffy against tau most of the time as well. Run the unit naked and use their range to kite and dakka.
Both serpents should take holo fields. Yes, tau can use markerlights to erase cover, but those are less markerlight tokens used to enhance ballistic skill. In general, kill any markerlight unit you see ASAP.
Specters are OK, but short range makes them easy killing for tau. If you want a deep strike suicide unit, warp spiders would do better for AT, and hawks are better for troop killing. Specters are decent against suits, but the ghostlight works off majority weapon, meaning it is possible to ghostlight from a prism rifle and not the blaster. Both the spiders and hawks are cheaper, but if you had some more specters I could see using them. The rain of S4 ap4 blasts is great against fire warriors and necron warriors. Watch out for tau interceptor murdering your deep strikers, if you choose to run any.
The prism needs holo fields, and you can toss the shuriken cannon. If an enemy is close enough to need the cannon, you have probably lost the prism. Kite away in event of danger, using the catapults as a last ditch.
