So, I had a funny situation come up in the last game I played. What happens when your highest command total is zero? Our opponent (we were doing a themed 3v1 thing, Enforcers and Marauders vs. Plague) had a bunch of units on the board that had a command of 0, along with a single commander to lead the troops. Near the end of the game, one of our snipers took out the Plague leader, leaving him without any ability to give orders, since his maximum number of units to command would be zero, based on his command total.

So what happens here? We eventually ruled that he just lost automatically, since he couldn't actually tell his Plague to do anything, but is there something in the rules that we missed? And yeah, I know, it seems like a drastic way to rule it, but we're doing a campaign where he's sort of a GM, so to speak, so it wasn't that big a deal.

I had a similar occurance. All my Rebs were wiped out, but there were still 2 happy little Spotter Drones hovering around beeping to themselves. So we turned to the sacred tome that is our rulebook (our new sacred tome, I might add, having usurped the false idol that was the 40k BRB) and we found that page 43 holds your answer, under 'Claimed Victories'.

It does indeed result in a loss. The moral of the story is to always bring a 2iC...
