As i sit here, working on my eldar, im trying to think of a few effects that i can work on them that will help them stand out from just every thing else sitting out there today. My first thought was to use a lesser craft world, Hense my choice of painting in grey and orange of Yme-Loc. The colors are all nice and solid, it works well, but i'm getting that itch again that maybe i could do a little extra to something. After looking at different images, and seeing some really beautiful effects on the Alaitoc models i'm interested in the mottled effect. Particularly of how to apply that onto my grey main armor

I can see that its several shades of color blotched across the figures, but im unsure of the best way to go about replicating the effect. How many shades of color should i be using, Two, Three, Four? Should i base coat in the darkest color, or a mid range color? Should the pattern be limited to the grey only, or should it extend to the other colors on the figures, the orange and the black? For that matter how would you mottle black with out it turning grey?

Some advice and pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Oh stop complaining, its for the greater good... Now get in the box!
