He's in really bad shape -apparently he woke up and thought that he'd been hit by a roadside IED despite having been out for three years, but it seems like his brain is all there; it's just the rest of him that is messed up. They're both solid folks, so if anyone wants to pony up a few bucks to help them and their kids through a rough time, it would be appreciated.

While we absolutely understand that wonderful people have tremendous woes sometimes, there is a pretty slippery slope when it comes to allowing people to post threads asking for financial assistance for crisis here on Dakka...because trust me when I say there are a LOT of people out there who are really suffering and are deserving of help.

Unfortunately, that means if we do allow such a thread, then it has to be directly related to miniature wargaming. I know that seems a bit callous, but unfortunately a line has to be drawn somewhere, and that happens to be our line.
