Hey all,
So, I'm in the midst of a campaign against a Chaos player and after playing one battle against him and being roasted by his Helldrake, I'm looking to make some changes to my list and tactics.

Basically, my thinking is that I will have two clumps of heavy weapons in the corners of my deployment zone regardless of the type (hoping I don't get Vanguard Strike). If I put the Hydras and some sort of escort and one corner and the
CCS with the heavy weapons in the other, then he will only be able to face his front armor at one or the other, giving me at least the chance to hurt it with fire from the other side. I don't expect the Hydras to be too effective, but if nothing else, they make for a great distracting target for a player that relies on the Helldrake for a lot of destruction (i.e. distraction trolling the distraction Helldrake).
Even with all those Autocannons blamming away at the helldrake, I'll still have a reasonable amount of firepower to direct towards his troops with the
LRBT and the Basilisk, while the infantry and conscripts can cling to some objectives. I thought about using a Veteran Squad rather than the Conscripts, but I think I'm going to need more bodies than a single torrent template can wipe out. The Inquisitors will essentially serve as cheaper, better Commissars, and the
PCS as a poor-man's MeltaVet team.
