Hi all,

I've recently gotten back into 40k and have built up a grey knight force. I've tested a few lists now and haven't had too much luck (mainly due to horrendous rolling on my part XD)

So, I thought I'd run a list by you all and get some feedback!

@ 2000pts
HQ: 288 pts
Coteaz

Ordo Malleus Inq.
Terminator armour, Psycannon, Psyker lvl1

Ordo Xenos Inq.
Power armour, Psychostroke grenades, Psyker lvl 1

Elites: 850 pts
Purifiers x 10
4 x psycannon, 2 x Halberds, 1 x Hammer

Purifiers x 10
3 x psycannon, 1 x incinerator, 3 x halberd, 1 x Hammer

Purifiers x 10 (combat unit)
Incinerator x 2, 5 x Halberd, 1 x Hammer, Justicar with Warding Stave

Troops: 212 pts
6 x psykers
6 x psykers
6 x psykers
8 x Warrior acolytes

Fast Attack: 205 pts
Stormraven
Plasma cannon, multi-melta

Heavy Support: 445 pts
2 x dreadknight
heavy incinerator, 1 x personal teleporter, greatsword

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The general idea here is to have a lot of re-rolling psycannon shots from the Ordo Malleus and Coteaz joining the 2 x shooty purifiers. Sit at the back for 2 or 3 rounds then charge in with cleansing flames to finish anything off.

The combat kitted purifiers will arrive in the stormraven with the ordo xenos inquisitor and charge nearby units with psychostroke grenades and divination.

Having tested psykers, they leave massive holes in any enemy unit in range and mean the enemy instantly prioritizes them, giving my purifiers some relief from blast weapons for a turn. At 60 points a squad they more than make up their points worth within 1 shooting phase usually and a perils isn't too devastating.

The dreadknights just cause trouble wherever they go so I love having 2 about.

Warrior acolytes are there to hold an objective in my deployment if needed or provide an overwatch shield for my stronger units.

Any feedback on the list would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I tend to find that strike squads are more cost effective than purifiers, plus they are troops. If you are going to insist on having 30 purifiers then you should try to find the points for crowe as the 'crowe tax' isnt too bad when you have lots of them.

I've tried a list with Crowe and I'm really not keen on him. He usually sits behind cover until later in the game, the pops his head out and doesn't do a whole lot!

Usually I'd bring a grandmaster to make the purifiers scoring, but couldn't find the points.

I'll maybe consider dropping one squad of purifiers for a strike squad actually (I'll only lose 1 psycannon that way..)

Thanks!

Oh i completely agree he is less than useless, but significantly cheaper than a decent grand master.

Agreed Crowe is not a strong HQ pick, but he does have his uses, especially now in 6th; he is one of the only units in the grey knight codex that is capable of AP2 at full initiative (I6 I believe), making him an "ok" terminator killer in close combat, although he may be quickly picked off afterwards. Aside from being a decent anti-2+ save fighter, his uses are limited and I would go with a grand master over him any day; maybe he would be a good secondary HQ in a large point game.
