What would be good to buy to start making a 1000-1500 list. I do not have any units or the codex yet, but tyranids are my favorite faction in the game [lore and look wise] . If someone could point me in the right direction on what to buy or play styles it would help me greatly. Just want to get models so I can start making them before trying to get the codex. That and my budget will make it so I have to get models over a few months and not all at once [so why buy the codex first].

the rest i will leave to you... but this seems to be the sort of common lists that are coming through.

This list gives you options to: A. take a tervigon as troops. B take a tyranid prime to join the warriors. C. to just add in that spare 260 points of what ever your looking for, maybe even another flyrant...

I like the 2 to 1 ratio Termaguant squads as well. They have performed admirably in all the games I've used them in. Tervigons, not so much. I'd rather have more gaunts and a Zoanthrope(for cheap powers and Synapse) these days.
