My local shop is having a little tournament at the moment and its 750 points.
My current list is:
Chaos nurgle lord on bike, armed with The black mace.
Troops are 2 units of 10 cultists, 1 with flamer
Fast Attack are 1 heldrake and 3 bikers with 2 melta-guns.
I was thinking of filling the left overs with a defiler with Havoc launcher and reaper auto then add a second Havoc launcher, warppfire gargoyles, and stuff a combi bolter on for the left over points.
But I am guessing someone will say there is better than my walking mass of destruction.
I know there are a few tau, nids and chaos players, with I think 1 IG and 1 sisters of battle armies I will come across.

Are you giving the bikers mark of nurgle as well? If not you should, otherwise your lord will only be toughness 5 because of the majority toughness rule. Also if you're playing game types out of the core rulebook you may want to add more cultists or another troop choice. Because 5/6 game types are objective based, all your enemy has to do is kill or break your cultists and you're forced to try to win through bonus objectives alone. Just my 2 cents.

Well then Mr 2 cents, would you suggest 6 units of 10 cultists or 3 units of 20, guess I will have to put the defiler back in the cupboard where I am thinking it must belong!
Thanks for reminding me about the majority toughness rule, I have slapped the riders with the mark of nurgle, I might drop the cultists to 15 members to give the biker champ a poweraxe and an extra 2 bikers, or is there a better way to spend the points?
Also other than my bikers with their meltaguns what do I have for taking out heavy hitters?
EDIT: Looking again at the challenge rules, would it be best to have 5 bikers total with my lord to give him that +1 reroll or should I look at bundling a unit of cultists in to help?

I don't know how, but it would be good to try to squeeze an Obliterator in there somewhere, hopefully the enemy would be occupied with the turkey and bikers whizzing up the board, and the obliterator could add some longer ranged fire power.

Well I can take a nurgled one for 76 or would a MoT one be better?
But I would have to drop it to 3 units of 12 cultists but I have upgraded the bikers power axe to a fist, or should this 25 points be something else. I want the AP 2, just to take out the grey knights I played with once

For 750 points 2 units of 20 cultists should be enough depending on what your opponent decides to shoot at. Having less squads of more bodies keeps you from paying the extra 10 points for the champion on each squad.
As for the bikers, extra bodies would be helpful, but for challenges you should most always be issuing the challenge with your biker champion so that your lord is free to murder the squad. At this point level I wouldn't recommend giving him a power weapon though, maybe melta bombs.
An obliterator does do wonders at this point level. Deepstrike him to heavy flamer/twin link plasma/multimelta something or keep him back for lascannon/assault cannon/plasma cannon shots.
For 750 you could get-
Nurgle Lord on Bike (Black Mace,)
2 squads of 20 Cultists (1 Flamer each)
Heldrake
5 Nurgle Bikers (Meltabomb)
Obliterator.
I think that is pretty nasty for 750.

Chaos don't seem to have to buy a champ, it comes in the unit :(
I would let him murder the unit, but when a challenge is issued he would have to stand their cheering on his minion rather than jumping in and doing the damage with his black mace.
I see you dumped my meltaguns, guess its 20 points being used up that don't seem to be used.
I was thinking of keeping the obby back, as my dice do not seem to like me at the moment, what would be better MoN or MoT on him as I can squeeze in an extra 3 points as there is a 10 point spill buffer.

What I'm saying is a group of 10 cultists is 50 points. Adding an additional 10 cultists is 40 points. Therefore 2x 10 man squads are 100 points while 1x 20 man squad is only 90 points. You're paying the extra 10 points for the champion on the 2nd squad.
Also I didn't mean to drop the meltas on your bikes, I added those in, just forget to type them out.
As for the challenges, your lord wouldn't just be standing there. Instead of wasting his attacks on one model alone, he uses his insane amount of attacks on the entire enemy squad. Whether your biker champion wins or loses the challenge is irrelevant.
For the obliterator, I prefer MoN so they can't be instantly killed by a lascannon or brightlance and give your enemy an easy First Blood.

I think I am misunderstanding the challenge rules then. I thought it was only 1 challange per combat phase and everyone else involved in that combat stand around cheering rather than belting the smeg out of each other, which is why you get a 1 reroll for every 5 models stood around.
I got what you meant about the cultists being cheaper, I was aiming for multiple squads rather than a larger one. But I will see how it goes, and with the melta on the bikes they had to go or I would have been 20 points over
