If you know the name of the units you have, you can also use the free army list program "Battlescribe".

Go to http://www.epicroster.com/ it's an online 40k army builder. Not sure about WHFB; you could download a trial of Army Builder but it only allows like a small bit without paying $30 for it.

And of course if you look around there are other ways of doing things that can't be mentioned in a forum like this, but I think you know what I mean.
