Hello all! Quick opinions on my first IG list, going for maximum dakka gun line, light on armor high on troops.

HQ - CCS with Vox and PF

Troops-

PCS with Vox

3 Infantry squad with 3 total Auto Cannon HWT and 1 total Vox (combined into 1 unit)

1 HWT with 3 Las Cannon

Aegis Defense Line with Quad Gun (manned by PCS)

Vets 1 Plas 1 PF Chimera

Vets 1 Plas 1 PF Chimera

Vets 1 Plas 1 PF Chimera


Start with 2 Chimeras full of vets in reserve to avoid getting ganked turn one, then flat out towards objectives on turn two.

Inftantry squads combined as one 30 man unit sits behind ADL and FRFSRF at anything close enough, using AC to take down MCs. Quad gun used to intercept fliers and pop shots at light armor.

Fire on my target or Bring it down used when the situations arise.

I'm not sold on the Power Fists, are they for taking out vehicles? (In which case Melta Bombs would be better in my opinion)

Also, I'd try and fill out the Vet squads with more special weapons, but if I haven't convinced you to drop the fists I'm not sure where you'd get the points.

I wondered about this as well. I'm a Marines player originally and I'm used to packing in a hard hitting CC weapon on my squads, thats my inclination towards the power fist. Originially I had 3 plasma guns in each vets squad and only 2 units, trying to keep boys before toys in mind I carved it down and took special weapons off of the CCS to make enough room for the 3rd vets in a Chimera.

Melta bombs would be a good choice for vehicles. But my friends play Daemons and Nids, so I was expecting to run into a fex or something similarly terrifying, and the Fists are like a safety blanket

You can still use the Bombs against Monstrous Creatures, although against MC's that are also characters the sergeant will get challenged out and squished before you get the chance to use either bomb or fist.

Personally, I'd rather have more Plasma Guns to try and take out the gribblies before they hit combat, but YMMV.

I would suggest droppint 1 squad of vets to get more special weapons for your other Veteran squads.

Also, maybe some flamers for the infantry, it would help with overwatch in case you get charged.

Yeah, drop all Pfs and just throw in more plasma guns and if you have any points left over then max out flamers for blob.

You have a blob and do not have a commissar or inquisitor with them??? Well I will tell you straight up your doing that wrong, you have a foot guard element and your CCS doesnt even have a standard to buff their Leadership. I promise you that most of your foot units will run away once they are forced to take a LD. Not to mention if your blob gets assaulted they will all die in the first round.

Never take a blob without a commissar or inquisitor.

If you have a good amount of foot guard make sure you get a standard so they have better moral if you run multiple small units.

True as above for 25pts ally with inquisition and take an inquisitor for that blob squad, and for another 30pts make him a psyker with prescience for TL autocannons and las guns.
