I can do water or do what i have done on my high elf swordmasters. On one side water will look very cool on my shelf, but when i field them my water terrain wont fit in with what is on the board. Id prefer having two separate dishes to have the units on, one for home and one for the battlefield, and keep a sand theme on the bases so that it will bit with both dishes.

Looking fine. My only suggestion would be to thin your white paint and apply a couple of thinner coats, using as few brush strokes as possible. This should help you achieve a my smoother look. HTH.
Keep it up though and let us see how things go.

I agree with StewRat. You need to thin your colors more especially white and brown (on the spear). It might take a couple or more layers to get the same coverage but paint will go on much smoother.
Got milk?
All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...
