Hey, it's the Doc again. One of my local stores are hosting a 400 point tournament, and I want in. The restrictions are, as follows:
0-1 HQ, 1-3 Troops (you must bring at least one troop choice), 0-1 Elites, 0-1 Fast Attack, 0-1 Heavy Support and 0-1 Swing slot that may be used for any force organization choice.
No named Characters, no models with >2W, no AV >12, and no Forge World or Fliers.
With this in mind, here is my first proposed Necron list:

Troops
6x Immortals w/ Gauss - 102
6x Immortals w/ Gauss - 102

Heavy Support
2x Anni Barges w/ gauss cannons - 180
(For the purposes of this game, the Quantum Shielding goes only up to 12)

Total: 384

As for tactics, pretty simple: move, shoot, move, and make sure everyone (especially the Barges) is in cover. I was wondering about trying to maybe fit in a Cryptek or something (I'd have to see if such an addition would be legal in this game).

The second one requires my ability to take a Royal Court without an Overlord (3 wounds), and looks like this:

HQ
Lord w/ Res Orb - 65
Lord w/ Res Orb, Scythe - 75

Troops
5x Gauss Immortals - 85
5x Gauss Immortals - 85

Heavy Support
Anni Barge w/ Gauss - 90

Total: 400

Tactics would be, again, move, shoot, move, but the Lords could give the Immortals a better chance of getting back up, and one could declare a challenge (at the opportune time).
Whaddya think?

Out of my Mind

I think the AV 13 rule is odd since that only makes S8 weapons that much better and vehicles that much weaker. Sounds like they're basing it off the old Combat Patrol rules. Still, it's cool that they're going to let you do it and reduce the shielding to 12 while still paying full points.

I really like the first list. Be interesting to see the scenarios and if any of them are Character based. I'm playing in a modified Escalation League and Week 2 req'd a character. I informed the Organizer that is can't be done in a Cron Dex w/o an HQ. I had to nominate a warrior to be the character...

With that said, if you need a character, then maybe a list in between your 2 lists would be best. Something like this:

Lord Orb and/or Scythe
8-9 Immortals(Gauss)
5 Immortals (Tesla)
ABarge.

Normally Im against Tesla, but in this situation it would work. You get the most out of your Orb by taking the one unit of Immortals that will be advancing on your opponent. They'll provide cover to the Tesla Immortals who don't need to be close for improved performance. You still get an ABarge for the heavy stuff. You'll really be forcing your opponent which of the 3 evils he wants to deal with.

I think a Cryptek with VOD would be hella fun to 'Bait' your opponent then fly away when he gets close. Tremorteks would be fun as well.

Best of luck and sounds like fun.
