Yup, another 3D Printer post.

Saw this announced on Stratasys' web page:
http://www.stratasys.com/connex3-multi-color-material-application

Basically a printer that can print and up to ten different colors at a time. Is essentially a 3D equivalent of an inkjet printer. At a build layer of 16 microns, it is very thin. The Form1 is 25 microns.

Spec sheet is located here:

Haven't seen cost yet, but expect it will be in the six figure range easily. While we probably won't see it in our hobby rooms any time soon, could see these being used to provide custom print on demand figures. There was a failed kickstarter recently that tried to do that, but the figure quality wasn't there and they were unpainted. This could make such an idea viable.

And no, this won't put GW out of business. They are doing a perfectly good job of doing that themselves

Have you seen the price on that thing?
But, any improvement is good, and will mean other cheaper options will appear soon.

If someone went back through old laser office printers, how long did they take from initial sales to desktop sub-$200? I expect this will be similar, what with the complexity of 3Dprinters countering the current state of tech.
