I'm a 40k gamer in Vancouver and my friends aren't quite nerdy enough to humour me and play 40k with me so I've been trying to put together a 40k gaming group. We would be meeting mostly at strategies board games on main street as they have tables open for 40k on saturdays but if anyone knows other places we could meet there. Anyone who's interested post here or PM me. Once we've sorted out who's interested we could all just meet for coffee first to demonstrate that no one is a machete wielding maniac as I know some people might have some trepidation about meeting with people from the internet.

Hey, North Burnaby Here. Looking for more gamers in the lower mainland area as well. Space marines, with an Eldar force under construction. Played my 1st game last month after a 8 year lay-off, so I'd be pretty good target practice too!

Yeah you kinda chose a decent time to post up on here. I'm actually not only from the Vancouver area, but I literally live two blocks from Strategies.

Me and my two other buddies use to go to the tournies that were held there, I played IG, Buddy A played SM and Buddy B played Tau/Orks.
We however haven't been playing since 5th edition since we thought the game went into full slow mode, we use to be pretty boss and would
Win most of our games. The straw that broke the camels back was 6th edition bringing in allies and special characters becoming an actual
Usable force. ( We hated Special Characters we played since 4th)

Strategies can be kind of lame because they require everything to be painted, which is great if you dry brush and wash or dip your figs, but not everyone is in the mood to speed paint their toys or has other commitments... I'd be interested in meeting up for a few games though in the fall. I have terrain and table. Cheers

Hey, did this group ever get off the ground? I'm based out of downtown Vancouver and would love to get in a game of either fantasy or 40k.

I've actually been looking to bust out my 40k stuff more often, so this seems like a good opportunity. If you don't mind having some wacky Chaos Space Marines along for the ride, I'm sure they'd appreciate getting out of their transport cases on a more regular basis.

If this group is still going give me a shout.

in North Van i know there is CHOP! every month, then I'm looking at doing some friendly games at Strategies at Main & 23rd on their tables, but models have to be fully painted and based apparently.

Hey, no group was ever really made, but a few of us do play games from time to time. Just missed the GW tourney that just happened. Chop is fun, but is mostly fantasy, so make sure you're bringing somebody. Their terrain is great, and they're all absolutely awesome to hang out with. Strategies is great as well, but as mentioned, needs fully painted models and you sometimes runs other games on certain nights. The highgate GW doesn't need to be painted, just actual GW stuff, and all 3 staff members there are awesome as well.

If anyone wants a game, shoot me a PM as I'm always down to play and help people learn. I'm not a great general, and play more for fun, so I'm a good punching bag to learn on, haha

As I mentioned I'm located in downtown Vancouver. I mostly play for fun but have my own table and terrain. Would love to throw a game down over the holidays.
