... hopefully third times the charm Stopped by a shop that's a little out of the way for me to pick up some LoTR Dwarf Warriors (one of the 24 model boxes) and got to talking with the owner and mentioned that I had dabbled in Flames of War in the past. Borrowing the store copy of Market Garden I tweaked my Grenadier Guards Armoured Squadron list that I had been working on. Here's my list:

Any thoughts on what to spend the last 20 points on? Right now I'm considering either four AA MGs or two AA MGs and a Sherman ARV.

I've also considered dropping the two extra Fireflys for a Column Platoon (but which configuration?) or maybe replacing the Guards Recce Patrol with a Guards Armoured Car Platoon with two Daimler I armoured cars and two Daimler Dingo scout cars.

Also a quick question. Since I'm using Sextons, is there a cheaper alternative to the British Artillery HQ that I can use since I won't need the two observer rifle teams and the two OP carriers? Thanks.

It's a good first list, it has lots of standard units which can be used to form other lists.

My personal favourite Sherman list which is similar is Canadian armoured recce from market garden

The only unit you may be able to cope without are the AA.

Can you stick things like hedgerow cutters or .50 cals on the Shermans? That's about the only thing I can think of.

Put .50 cals on your Stuarts so they have a bit more firepower to harass rear units and infantry.

So that would be three AA MGs on the Stuarts and one on probably the Sextons then?

I would look for a single radio and place it around the models,on a table or on the ground and mix it up with your spare models.
