Im planning on going to my FLGS X-Wing Tournament in a few weeks. Im still relatively new to the game, so I thought Id ask for input on my possible lists. Its not a big event, and it wont be too competitive I think, but Id still like a strong list.

Rebel:
Blue Squadron - Advanced Sensors
Blue Squadron - Advanced Sensors
Blue Squadron - Advanced Sensors
Blue Squadron - Advanced Sensors

Imperial:
Academy Pilot
Academy Pilot
Howlrunner
Turr Phennir - Markmanship or Veteran Instincts maybe? If Vet, then I could make the 2 Academy Pilots into Obsidians instead.
Soontir Fel - Push the Limit

I ran the Imperial list a couple of time recently with success. I am planning on probably trying the B-Wing list tonight.

Kabal of the Sundering Strike 2500pts
Eldar Corsairs 750pts
400pts Corregidor/Nomads
300pts Yu Jing
200pts+ each of Imperial and Rebel fleets for X-Wing
A Terran Alliance and Dindrenzi Fleet for Firestorm Armada
A Necromunda Goliath gang and Spyrer gang

I've run a near identical imperial list casually, and found it very good.

I'd go VI on Turd Burglar and rather than upgrade the Academy TIEs, invest in something to increase Howlrunner's durability, Determination is a personal favourite, but I've had great luck with what crits have been drawn when using it.

On the Rebel side, that's probably the stronger of the two, have you thought about HLC instead? What's better than 3 attack dice? 4 at all ranges!

Thanks for the advice on the Imp list. That sounds like a good idea. Ill keep the two ties as academy's then.

Ive considered HLC, im just wondering the best way to fit them in. Maybe downgrade to Blue Squadrons? But then theyre 4 very low skill pilots.

I ran the 4 x Blue squad with adv sensors in my last tourny and came 2nd

Yes low pilot skill but the advanced sensors allow you to mitigate moving first my preforming that barrel roll before you move

Also allows you to focus, pull a k-turn and still have options
