Hello Dakka! I've got a tournament coming up next weekend and I'll be playing Nids. The reason for this is twofold. First, I love Nids. Second, they are the army that I have the most units painted. The tournament is scored as 1/3 painting, 1/3 gamesmanship, and 1/3 game victory points. I've got a list of the units that I currently have painted that are what's available to choose from. I have a lot going on in the next week and as such probably wouldn't be able to paint much at all (maybe a gaunt or two). Anyway, here is the list of what I have to choose from:

HQ:
2x Flyrants with TL Devourers
Swarmlord
Tyrant Guard

Troops:
40 Spinefist gaunts
8 Devourer gaunts
16 Fleshborer gaunts
4 Warriors, all have lash whips and boneswords, 3 with Deathspitters, one with Barbed Strangler
2x Tervigon

Elite:
2x Zoanthrope
1x Venomthrope
2x Hive Guard

Heavy Support:
Carnifex with TL Devourers
Carnifex with TL Devourer and Heavy Venom Cannon
Exocrine
3x Biovores
2x Tyrannofex (can just swap arms out on the Tervigons)

Word is that this tournament generally has a wider variety of lists (i.e. won't be 60%+ Tau and/or Eldar) because the game victory points count for a smaller percentage of your final score. I really really like the Warrior unit I have because I think it's beautiful and because of the synapse (but mostly because it looks awesome), so I would prefer for it to stay and stay as is.

I love the Swarmlord because 3 powers is amazing, but he is a giant target, and with only 1 Flyrant I worry that it'll get focused down very fast. Two might last an additional turn. I don't have any fortifications and wouldn't have the time to paint one prior to the tournament so try to avoid adding any
