Hey, so I happen to have several trays of DE battlefoam. I'm having a hard time finding a case that can hold it all. The overall dimensions are 18 x 15.5 x 12 in. Any suggestions? Thanks. Also, 18 in is the height.

Maybe I don't understand. Why not buy a Battlefoam bag, if you already have their trays?

Cost? BF isn't the cheapest on the market. But at that tray size, there might not be a choice.

Office supply stores sell cardboard file boxes which coincidently happen to fit the Battlefoam trays.

They also have a rolling collapsible plastic file box that also fits those trays..

I had this exact problem and found my solution at Target. An $8.99 "tupperware" plastic bin fit my DE Battlefoam trays perfectly. I'd take an empty tray down to your local Target or Wal Mart and start experimenting in the home storage aisle. You are bound to find some options available at dirt cheap prices compared to traditional gaming bags.

Battlefoam's trays tend to be an awkward size so you buy Battlefoam bags and only Battlefoam bags.

Either invest in a different set of foam or delve further into expensive Battlefoam products.

Or find cheaper alternatives. $14.99 at Target. Dimensions: 20.25 " H x 19.5 " W x 35.75 " L That should fit the foam if it is packed in a side by side configuration. Again, it would be best to take some foam to a store and test fit it yourself, but you can get some storage/transport bins for cheap. Big Lots would be another store that sells these storage bins at low prices--if you have any Big Lots in your area.

The problem is finding a box or bin that has straight sides and having enough foam to fill it up to the top. Battlefoam trays are great when they're packed in tightly, but the fit needs to be tight enough to prevent the trays from shifting around. You can find stuff that works, but keep that in mind.

I just packed up my hobby room in preparation for a move, and had more foam than would fit in my bags, so I had to do just what you are doing: find a box that the trays fit into. A small packing box from Home Depot: 16"x12"x12" is just about the right size. You're only .5 inches off in terms of the dimensions of a tray, and you can fill that void. You can also get them in a heavy duty cardboard.

You have a bit of a problem in that you have 18" of trays. But, you are looking for transport, not storage, so cardboard boxes probably isn't a solution you are looking for. I found some watertight plastic totes that were something like 113/4" x 171/2" x 8". Those work okay, but you've got to jam in the bottom most tray a little bit and you've still got 2.5 inches of void on one side to fill. If you had enough foam in the tote to compress it a little bit when you latched the top on, it probably wouldn't move much with light handling.

Just for the record, KR cases are too small.
I'd have pointed you at the aluminium cases they well, but they're too small on both sides.

I have a few of these at home (well, this one which looks to be the same thing). They fit a full size battlefoam tray nicely once you take out all the organiser bits, with 2-3" on the end to put your dice/tape measures. Should fit 6" of foam here, and it also comes with a bit of pluck foam.

The most annoying thing about these is that they're pretty awkward to carry around 2 or more of them :( But they're great if you can fit your intended army in just one case.

I'd honestly recommend just getting some battlefoam cases for it. Their cases are good quality and being a single unit really makes them easy to move around.

I use an Ammo tin as a transport device for my skirmish level games. in one .50 tin i can fit: three starter level Darkage armies an a tournament level (35pt) Warmachine Cryx army.
Whats more, it is cheap (£5.00) from the local market, looks amazing (i have recieved compliments on it) and is unique (so no confusing it with other peoples stuff). And did i mention that it really protects my minis, and is readily portable?
