New to the threads and somewhat new to Warhammer 40k. Was introduced to 40k about a month ago and have been picking up on the rules and terminology fairly quickly, but I've really been enjoying painting. I currently have a Zoanthrope painted, not entirely satisfied with it, but it's been a blast experimenting with shading and layering. I've heard about the model painting competitions and hope to get good enough to be able to compete in them. Learned, so far, to paint certain parts first before gluing, otherwise it's a pain to try and paint in spaces that don't quite allow the brush to reach or bend that way. I'll next be painting Hormagaunts.

I picked the Nids because of the Zoanthrope, my first purchase. It reminded me so much of the Slivers from MTG, I just had to have it. Now I have a hard time not calling the rest of them Slivers.

A quick question here before I head over to the "40K You Make Da Call" section. If I were to come up with new types of units, of which I understand must be implemented in either House Rule Normal Play or Apocalypse matches, where in these forums would I post my ideas of new units?

Welcome to Dakka! Sorry but I just don't know, though you'd post the rules for them in the 40K rules section. Hope this helps!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
