A friend of mine and myself decided we should play a 3000 pt game this thursday. Seeing as none of us have more than 2000 points we ended up buying models for a fair amount. I know he'll be playing Eldar with a splash of Tau allies and as I've played against his Eldar before I know what he will most likely bring to the game. At the 2000 points level ihis Wave Serpent spam is tough to beat and so far I can't really say that I have. Would like some tips on how to improve my list.

_____________

His list:

HQ:
Spiritseer - 70 pts

Troops:
Wraithguard w/ D-Scythe - 210 pts
Wraithguard -160 pts
Wraithguard -160 pts
Dire Avengers - 65 pts
Rangers - 60 pts
++

Fast Attack:
2-3 Crimson Hunter - 160 pts

Heavy Support:
2-3 Wraithknight - 240 pts
Fire Prism -135 pts

Transports:
Wave Serpent w/scatter laser + cannon + holo -145 pts
Wave Serpent w/scatter laser + cannon + holo -145 pts
Wave Serpent w/scatter laser + cannon + holo -145 pts
Wave Serpent w/scatter laser + cannon + holo -145 pts
++

Allied Detachement:
Commander with Marker Drones
Riptide with Skyfire/Interceptor/Deny cover.
Broadsides with Missile Drones
++

Basically a whole lot of nasty. He usually runs a Spiritseer (the one which makes wraithguards scoring) in a Wave Serpent with Dire Avengers, 3-4 Waveserpents with Wraithguard @ 300+ points 1-2 Wraithguards with Suncannons, 1-2 Crimson Hunters and maaaybe a small unit of rangers in a 2000 pts list.

_____________

My list so far:

HQ:
-

Elite:
Ironclad Dreadnought – Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon w. Storm Bolter, Hurricane Bolter, 2x HK Missiles - 155 pts
Ironclad Dreadnought – Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon w. Storm Bolter, Hurricane Bolter, 2x HK Missiles - 155 pts

Troops:
10x Scouts - Sniper Rifles, Camo Cloaks, Missile Launcher - 155 pts
10x Scouts - Sniper Rifles, Camo Cloaks, Missile Launcher - 155 pts

Fast Attack:
3x Land Speeder (Squadron) – Heavy Bolter, Typhoon Missile Launchers - 225 pts

Heavy Support:
Stormraven Gunship - TL Multi-Melta, TL Assault Cannons - 200 pts
3x Centurion Dev. - Hurricane Bolters, Grav Guns and Grav amps, Sergeant w. omniscope - 260 pts
3x Centurion Dev. - Hurricane Bolters, Grav Guns and Grav amps, Sergeant w. omniscope - 260 pts

Astartes Storm Wing detachement:
Stormraven Gunship - TL Multi-Melta, TL Assault Cannons - 200 pts
Storm Talon - Skyhammer Missile Launcher, TL Assault Cannon - 125 pts
Storm Talon - Skyhammer Missile Launcher, TL Assault Cannon - 125 pts

Scouts start on table in the back of my deployment, along with the Land Speeders and extra units which are not yet decided. The main part of my plan is to Fly in the Stormraven Gunships each escorted by Stormtalon's and each carrying a Dreadnought and 3 Centurion Devastators with Gravcannons. I have 2x 4 units that each come in on a single reserve roll, which, I'm hoping, will mitigate his intercept ability. The Stormraven-Centurions combo has already killed a Wraithknight on the turn they come in twice in a row by using 'Skies of Fury'. I'm thinking of adding the Ironclads to the mix and perhaps taking out some of those Wave Serpents on the same turn by glancing them to death (going for rear armor here). I've usually drop podded one in behind a Waveserpent etc. but he's always died the next turn, albeit sucking up shots like a champ. Now I have two for target saturation.

So this is about 2000 pts altogether and I have about 1000 pts to spare. Which HQ's to bring and how to field them is one of the main problems I face, along with getting more scoring units on the table. Not sure what to do yet, so anything is possible. In short, I want to know what your thoughts are about what I should add to the list. How would you best complement the current list? I could really use some advice here!

Thanks in advance.
