So I finally decided on the paint scheme that I want to use for my Tyranids and have been doing a test run with a Haruspex. I am fairly happy with it but I want to get some input before I start finalizing things.

So my first pic is of the maw, I still have some work to do and everything white is still just base coated. I am fairly happy with the mouth in general but I am conflicted on what to do with the teeth/talons. I am thinking either doing straight up bone coloring or doing a black.

The next is the carapace without any glaze or detailing, just a clean shot of the blending.

The last shot is of the carapace that I have finished with detailing and glazing.

Alright, so there it is. This is my first attempt at this scheme and I like where it is going. I wanted a poison dart frog like appearance for the carapace and the dark red skin. I am torn on what to do with the claws/talons/teeth on whether to do them black or bone, maybe even continue with the blue of the carapace.

Looking for any and all advice/feed back. Thanks!

Do both, start them in black and fade to bone at the ends.

Fascinating color scheme.

The skin needs a bit more definition - like a final wash or something - perhaps you have just not got to that stage.

I like the specks on the blue.

To start with, I don't know about doing black/bone mix, I don't even know how that would look or how to begin doing it. Do you have any examples of what you are suggesting there?

Second, the skin does look a bit flat in the pictures but it looks better in RL. I tried doing some final highlighting with brighter reds/oranges but found it ends up looking too unnatural. Maybe it could do with a final wash to give a little more definition?
