But it seems like you just use you jacks to get things out of the way for Sorcha to kill. and if she cant do that it leaves me wondering what to do.
They’re not that hard! Its Kreoss. Get line of sight to him, pop feat, charge. Six focus later, he’s meat. If he’s camping hard on focus, use Eiryss to strip it all off of him.
Here is the thing – it doesn’t seem like you’re understanding Sorscha. She is an “assassination caster”. She wins her game by landing the killing blow herself. That’s how she plays. In a chess analogy, she’s the perfect “queen”. Everything else is a pawn that you use to set up the board.
Sorscha doesn’t crack armour. That’s simply not her job. She doesn’t engage in a blow for blow attritional slugfest. She waits for the chance to go for the throat, and then she does exactly that.

also not sure what to do as i go up in points. im thinking of just getting a man o war kovnik and give him the destroyer. and a wardog. or are there better options?
what should i scale up to? ideas for secondary casters? how to make the juggy and destroyer shine. bc i have to use them for the next month
lol
I wouldn’t bother with the MoW Kovnik. If anything, get a greylord solo who can feed a battlegroup jack a focus as a special action (as well as having an awesome magic spray attack) if you want additional jack support. Jack marshalls really are lacklustre, aside from a handful of examples.
Wardogs are fun. But Sorscha loves her elven friend Sylas Wyshnayler. He gives her a bonus to magic attack rolls, and helps buff her magic’s accuracy. Which is great when you cast freezing grip on an enemy unit, turn them all stationary, and then wind rush away. Which saves your feat for the big moment and it removes an enemy squad from your opponents army each and every turn.
Other things that are good? Khador’s typical backbone is its infantry. You can’t go wrong with the likes of widowmakers. Great ranged support unit. Then there are iron fangs (solid melee bruisers), whether the original, or black dragon types. You’ve also got winter guard. The “deathstar” is justifiably infamous. Ten guys, officer and standard bearer, 3 rocketeers and Kovnik Joe? Solid backbone of any army. How about eiryss. I mentioned above how she is a great support solo for taking out the opponent’s caster’s focus for a turn. Perfect backup for an assassination run. If you need more armour cracking, look to doom reavers, or the great bears. Sorscha helps to deliver them safely with her fog spell (cant remember the name!)
Thing is, with the Juggy and destroyer, they’re already fairly solid. Apply Sorscha’s feat, or freezing grip, and the destroyer’s low rat hardly matters. Pow 14s will do damage. Great for popping pesky solos or officers. Feed him with a focus from a koldun lord (the greylord solo) as sorscha could be pretty stretched, and it’s a boosted pow14. Cant go wrong with ranged support like that.
Juggy is already great. If unimaginative. 7pts. Massive P+S. he hits stuff hard and he wrecks it. under appreciated, but there is nothing wrong with him.
Casters like Butcher with his “full throttle” spell, or irusk/strakhov with “superiority” turn him into a bit of a monster. Personally, I think Butcher is a fantastic character to start out with. He is immensely hard, and hits like a freight train. He’s not invulnerable, but is very, very tough, and has excellent support to offer to any khador army.
Hope that helps!
