I'm just getting back into 40k. By now I only enjoyed plaing some games in a very friendly meta. And now I'm planing to go to my first tournament in five years. It's 1500 points and unlike the last games, I'm thinking of fielding dark angels instead of eldar.

Any thoughts on this list:

Librarian, power field generator
Command Squad, 3xCombi-Melta, 1 Boltgun, Apo ('cause I've built him and love the model) with Standard of Devastation in razorback with dozer blade and TL LasCan
10 Marines with meltagun in a Rhino with dozer blade
10 Marines with meltagun in a Rhino with dozer blade
Predator with dozer blade, all LasCans
LRC with DW upgrade, dozer blade and multi melta
LRC with DW upgrade, dozer blade and multi melta

That's 1500 points. Plan is combat squat the tactical troops, fielding the two 5 man squads with meltagun in the LRCs, acompanied by Libby and command squad in the Razorback, holding back the remaining Troops in their taxis, hopefully 'til turn 4. Do you think this could work?

Be aware that the PFG does not work while inside of a vehicle. Other than that you are lacking in anti-flyer which with your setup is not so bad but something to consider.

I would drop all the dozer blades they don't do much for you. With the added points you can give some seargents combi weapons as well.

It is a decent setup for the dakka banner I wish you luck in the tournament

The power field generator isn't worth taking if your guys isn't out in the open. However, you can abuse it fairly easily with this list. All you'd need is shave some of the dozer blades off the rhinos/razorbacks and stick him on a bike. Don't even worry he's not part of a squad, you can bubblewrap him in big-ass armored tanks, and in turn he'll give anything he's within 3 inches of a 4++ invulnerable save, which I shouldn't even have to tell you how silly that is on AV14.

You could possibly drop the DW upgrade on the land raiders, too. Doesn't really add a lot to crusaders, IMHO.

Just to clairfy, it is a 4++ on the PFG. Also, I thought they made it legal to use inside a vechile but the effects wouldn't go past the interior of the vechile. I'm not 100% sure though.

Well I thought of taking it to give the razorback a 4++. Or did I get something wrong in the FAQ and that won't work? Otherwise it would be destroyed way too fast. But with two LRCs giving cover AND 4++ it might survive.

What about dropping dozer blades and DW upgrades to pick up some scout snipers to have something against MCs? Or any other advise for the points?

Taken straight out of the errata on GW's website:

Page 64 – Power Field Generator
Add “If the bearer is embarked upon a Transport vehicle, the
powerfield’s effects only apply to models embarked upon that
vehicle”.

The transport vehicle is not a model embarked upon itself, therefore no PFG save. Your Librarian cannot be embarked. Like I said it's still pretty easy to abuse because you'll have a vehicle blocking LOS from people taking pot shots at your guy trying to remove him, that now has a 4++ save. You are really only opening yourself up to things that don't require line of sight.

Ok, I misunderstood that.

What's your experience with Vindicators? He lacks a bit of range vs. a predator, but might be more universal?
