Ok so I had to start somewhere, and the closest GW store is starting a Kill Squad league so here we go,
Standard 200pts,

I know SM mean I'm going to be out numbered all most all the time

Choice 1
Scout squad (5) sniper rifles
Scout squad(5) shot guns
Land speeder storm

Snipers provide cover fire, rest assault, storm acts as mobile fire base for shotties.

Choice 2
Scout squad(6) hvy bolter, sniper rifles
Bike squad(3), flammer

Bikes deal with high theat snipers pin hvy bolter with helfire rnds should pack a decent punch

Choice 3

Assault squad(5) combat shield, flammer, no jump packs free rhino
Scout squad (5) hvy bolter, sniper

In a 200 point game I'm thinking the Rhino will actually be usefull, the combat shield really increases the survivability of the assault marines, and flammer should help with mobs

Open to other lists or tactic ideas

You sure you can field a Rhino? Thought nothing with 3+ wounds

I'll have to check on the Rhino tomorrow, thought they had armor not wounds, still a little fuzzy with 6 ed

Sigh guess no rhino, doesn't that mean the land speeder is also not allowed?

Land speeders armor does not equal 33 and only has two hull points.

Yes you can use a speeder

I'm thinking about using 5-6 Sternguards, give the heavy weapon guy relentless.

I ran an all bike white scars kill team and it was brutal. I stuck in an attack bike and as many meltas as I could fit. Played against a cron player running all wraiths and tabled him by round 3. The meltas were critical in insta-killing the wraiths and having the white scars tactics was an amazing help in getting over the terrain. Just a thought though from a fellow marine player.

Read that again more carefully. It's more than 3 wounds, not 3 wounds/Hull Points. Rhinos and Razorbacks are legal.

The rule is designed to limit Monstrous Creatures. You can bring Blood Crushers and Chaos Spawn all you want.

I've been thinking all week about what I want to run in the Kill Team tournament we're doing around my store in April. Hadn't considered scout spam, but it'd be pretty good I think.

1) I think a Land Speeder Storm would be pretty great in kill team. Difficult to take out in smaller games because if someone has the foresight to bring Melta or a Rocket Launcher, it's still got a Jink Save. I highly recommend going Heavy Flamer on it because it's a free weapon swap and whenever you can bring something that auto-hits when you're only WS3, it's a good idea. Also it being open topped and the fact each guy inside counts as their own unit, you can disembark the 5 guys inside to charge 5 different dudes should a situation come up where that's advantageous. The scouts are probably deadlier in close combat than they are with the shotguns against a significant number of opponents. Having tactical flexibility never hurt nobody.

2) I'd be leery of abusing the "free rhino" thing in a kill team game. There's nothing that doesn't let you do it but you're effectively gaining 25 points (assault troops are only 2 points more than tactical marines) and I think some people would consider that really cheesy.

3) Even with that, your last list is still the strongest list there I think. Just the regular ol' space marine profile is really good in kill team games, and assault marines are pretty decent. Depending on if people are cool with letting you take the free rhino for dropping jump packs, I'd drop the combat shields (they are seriously the biggest waste of points) and take melta guns rather than flamers. The two guys with melta guns could go hunt multi-wound models with T4, and the other guys could go assault and attempt to tie up people's big guns and leaders.

Herrrrrp I knew that. Was just thinking about how to make a Raptor squad for Kill Team and forgot it's only chaos marines who can still do that.

Maybe Plasma Pistols then. Same range, just isn't instant death against T4 models and it's not as good against armor, though still capable against the kinds of light armor you're going to see in Kill team. You could nominate one of the guys to have Tank Hunter with it, and that'd be quite funny. Means you'd have to find 10 points to scrounge from the list, though.

Hadn't thought of the free rhino being cheese, I do give up bolt guns on the assault marines, but that being said, if it smells like cheese, looks like cheese, then I guess it's cheese.

Sorry Bolters not bolt guns
