So have been reading around and want to build myself the Ultimate Guard army and slowly buy the units to do so.

So far I'm at 1850, but unsure what I would need to change...if anything.

HQ

Company Command Squad ----- 120
-Power Weapon
-Vox-caster
-Regiment Standard
-Master of Ordnance
-Grenade Launcher
-Flamer

Troops

X2 Veteran Squads ------200
-x3 Flamers
-Autcannon
Vox-caster

Veteran Squad -----75
-Vox-caster

Fast Attack

x3 Vendettas (not a squad) ---- 420
-Heavy Bolters

Heavy Support

Lemans Russ Squad 1 ----- 525
x2 Leman Russ Battle Tanks
-Heavy Bolters
-Dozer Blade
x1 Vanquisher
-Heavy Bolters
-Dozer Blade

Lemans Russ Squad 2 ----- 360
x2 Leman Russ Battle Tanks
-Heavy Bolters
-Dozer Blade

Hydra Flak Tank Battery ---- 150
x2 Hydras

I know people think the Bolters on the Lemans Russ's are a bad idea but I thought it may be worth keeping them to ensure I don't get my main weapons destroyed?

I have some of this already but keen to ensure i'm creating a 'winning' team before I buy the rest.

My best advice would be to wait until the next IG codex comes out (rumored to be really soon). What is good now may be garbage then and so on. I'd hate to see you spend a lot of money on units that might be trash during the next update.

As it is though, the vehicles in your list look really strong other than the vanquisher. Your big gun has a 50/50 chance of hitting, to me that is too big of a risk. I would swap it for a demolisher.

The infantry need some upgrades rearranged though. I'd drop all voxcasters for three flamers for your bare veterans squad and put all three veteran squads in Vendettas to drop and flame anything on an objective. Drop the flamer, grenade launcher, standard, and power weapon for an autocannon and camo cloaks for your CCS and plant them in cover.

A lot of lists will have trouble against a guard army like this.

I really like the idea behind this list but there are a few changes I would personally make that you may want to consider.

The vets with autocannons and flamers are not very efficient in terms of cost effectiveness. I understand the idea behind them, BS4 autocannon shots with flamers to defend from CC while they sit near the home objective. However, the BS4 of vets is completely wasted on flamers since they are template weapons. You would be much better off spending the extra points on plasma for home defense. If you want flamers take Platoons and sit them back with this same setup. They are more cost effective for the purpose of sitting back and holding objectives. Vets should always take advantage of their BS4 and bring either 3 plasmas or 3 meltas.

I would drop the heavy bolters from the Ordnance Russes for sure. I get why you have them but you are throwing away a lot of points to prevent something from happening that already has a low chance of occurring. Weapon destroyed only occurs after a penetration with a 13.3% chance of rolling the weapon destroyed result, then a 50% chance of losing the main weapon due the Russes having a built in hull bolter. This is not even including the easy 4/5+ cover save you can give your Russes by putting them in cover that could prevent the pen in the first place. For the 80 points of sponson bolters you are spending alone on the Ordnance Russes you can get something much better. You would be so much better off buying an Aegis Defense Line for those points, which will give everything you put behind it a 4+ cover save. This will give your entire army far more survivability, including your tank main guns.

Drop the dozer blades from the russes. There is no reason why they should be moving a lot since they have 72 inch ranges. Just deploy them in cover, like behind the Aegis Defense Line I mentioned above and they will not have to move to do their job to the fullest potential. Dozer blades are better put on Russ varients that need to move, such as demolishers with only 24 inch range.

Drop the vanquisher from the first Lemon Russ squad. It does not mix well and you already have ridiculous anti-armor potential with your 3 vendettas. The problem is that the whole squad has to shoot the same target so the vanquisher will encourage you to fire at high armor targets while the standard battle cannon is far better suited to fire at infantry (especially power armor units) due to this large blast ap3 on it. That is an expensive unit that so you will want to be firing with maximum efficiency. Swap out the vanquisher for another standard battle cannon.
With the tank changes I recommended alone, this will free up 135 points. Now you can get that aegis defense line with a quad gun, adding more firepower to your list (with interceptor to boot) and FAR more survivability to everything, including your Lemon Russes as a whole, not just their main guns.

Hope my suggetsions help.

Also, this. There is a lot that is likely to change in a couple of weeks so for your wallets sake it would be smart to wait the see how the new codex pans out. Everything I previously suggested may be obsolete in a matter of weeks.

Thanks Guys.

Yes I will wait the new Codex.

At the moment I have a very Troop heavy army and want to have something a bit more flex able hence the list above.

The idea was sit back with the tanks and blast anything that can hit a flyer in the fist turn with all 5 tanks then bring the Vendetta's in either hit other heavy units with the lascannons or heavy bolters to take out troops. Then on turn 5 drop some squads on objectives and....fingers crossed win the game.

The flak units can help take out everything from air units to troops.

I will look at dropping the vox-casters as they should, all going to plan be out of range anyway. In regards the heavy bolters on the tanks they are a must for me, even with snap shooting if you are firing 10 heavy olters at approaching targets, that's 30 dice. I use them every game to great effect.
